Respect to the GOAT Tony Gonzalez thread

Loved watching the guy throughout his career.

    Some stats for Tony G

7th all time in reviving yards
2nd all time in receptions behind jerry rice
    6th all time in td's

led the league in receiving yards in 2004

I can keep going but the man's greatness can not be over-stated, all this as a TE is unreal especially to think most of it came before crazy offensive rules, and when running backs were still a huge asset

I would argue he is a top 10-15 player of all time

I hated him as a divisional foe, but always respected his game! He tore Oakland up!

with the influx of TE's his career will be ordinary to the next generation of football fans who dont realize what the TE position was like before gonzo

He's definitely the GOAT right now. Great career, and a real class act. I think maybe another 4-6 all-pro years for Jason Witten can get him into that category as well.

He was a hell of a reviving TE, don't know exactly who he brought back, but he was 7th in reviving yards

he might be talked into one more year but even if this was his last game his stats are incredible and i think he changed the position somewhat as well. heck of a career.

I hope we get 1 more year out of this guy. Our offense will be a whole lot different without the great Tony G.

This guy defines what the game should be about. Let his play do all the talking for him, is the consummate team player on and off the field, is leaving the game as probably the best to ever play the position. Class act start to finish.
