Question: Stevan Ridley or Mark Ingram

You guys got an opinion on the Ridley Ingram draft picks?

Did the Patriots get our guy and get over on us by letting us move up for Ingram while they still got Ridley.

Is Ridley better than Ingram or is it too early or is it just our system.

    Any thoughts?

Its interesting because New England had Stevan Ridley and Mark Ingram rated about the same, so rather than take Mark in Round 1 themselves, the Patriots made the trade with us and got Ridley in the 3rd. So far, Ridley has certainly had the better career, though he is more of a feature back than Ingram is down here.

yep. they did think hard about taking Ingram in Round 1, but once they found a trade partner, it was an easy call

Y'all some silly azz mutha... Ain't nobody got over nobody. We are phuckin ourselves bcuz we don't run the ball! We can have the Top 5 HoF RBs in our backfield and with our offensive philosophies on offense you guys would be calling them a bust! Shut the ***** up, watch the phuckin games, and try not to leave your farts lingering in your sofa to long. Bcuz when company comes over and sit in tgat same spot, we can smell that schit!

I officially now have a "Stephen" following me!

As a Pats fan, I got a little chuckle out of this thread. I remember there were a few of us on the Pats forum after that draft thinking that maybe you guys stole our draft, lol. We needed a running back and a pass rusher and both Ingram and Cameron Jordan to New England were talked about A LOT and you guys obviously ended up with both.

It took me a bit to warm up to the Nate Soldier pick as I really liked the idea of drafting Jordan (Dude was a flat out beast during week of Senior Bowl). Ingram, I believe, was rated as best back in that draft so I would not have complained if we had drafted him either, especially at pick 27 or 28 where you guys traded up for him.

I honestly didn't even know who Ridley was when we drafted him with our third rd pick. I did, however, know Vereen who we got in the 2nd, and honestly didn't like that pick at all with Mikel Leshoure still on the board. Don't even get me started on the Ras-I Dowling or Mallet picks.

It was looking like a disappointing draft at first. We had 4 picks in the first two rounds and I remember thinking all we walked away with was a raw left tackle and no help for our anemic pass rush, meanwhile the damn Saints just drafted two beasts who I would had been elated with.

Anyways, I've rambled on too long. Best of luck to you guys this off-season and next season.

The draft truly is a chess match isn't it.

I'm thinking Saints and Patriots will be doing business again this draft in some way.

Damn B that is a classic post it made me laugh for real brother.

As for the post I'll take Ingram. He is a ton to take down it seemed that after Ivory came back that our backs started running with power. Even PT was ramming defensive players. I like our lineup of RB's but we just do not set up the run much. That statement shouldn't surprise anyone on this site. I like our RB's but the backfield is crowded and with our cap situation don't be surprised to get rid of someone. Also don't take me wrong I will take an elite rb over anyone on the roster, but then again that goes without saying.
