SF is the gayest city so that is why they don't care about homers. Chicks dig the long ball. That is the front office's thinking. They want more chicks in the seats. That leads to more males, and before you know it, you have a full house. Duh.

Figured he would be in. He is a decent defender that can hit lefties a little. Solid pickup

Paulino is also a backup. Do now we have two backup catchers who can't hit 70% of pitchers for absolute ****.

Nice redundant moves, Jack. One of those guys would have been fine with Jaso. Two roster spots taken by essentially the same player. Sounds awful familiar.

This is entirely Eric Wedge, IMO.

I forgot Paulino is a minor league deal.

At any rate, Shoppach absolutely can't hit RHP. so blech

Still rather have Jaso than Morse and Shoppach.

    Paulino: .272/.324/.376 -- .308 wOBA -- 84 wRC+, 1 rSB, 10 DRS, 6.5 WAR

    Shoppach: .226/.314/.418 --.322 wOBA -- 97 wRC+, 5 rSB, 1 DRS, 7.9 WAR

Ill take Shoppach over Paulino, especially considering their last couple years

God, he just reminds me so much of Olivo. I know he's better, but his contact rates and stuff are just....

That's better than I expected though. His traditional stats are awful, but his wRC+ is almost league average.

    Ditto.

I'm still worried about what our bench ends up looking like. It appears that the team is willing to have Andino as the only back-up infielder with Morse serving as the emergency 3B.

I have thought about that too. May end up with 5 OF and two 1B on the roster. Appears Jack has thrown out the pitching and defense stuff, at least for this year.
