Just do turbotax online. Nothing to download. I have used Turbotax the last 4 years for my state and federal, even though my taxes are simple enough I am just lazy. I did them myself this year and I finally get a good return this year, 1900! I found it absurd for what they charge just to electronically transmit my return and deposit my return straight into my checking account. Its like 29.99 for federal alone, another 19.99 to file state and then the bastards want another 26.99 if you have them deduct the fees from your return! But if you pay with a credit/ATM card then you just pay the federal and state fee. You can file for free electronically directly on the IRS website. And depending on what state you live in you can usually file for free with whatever state entity that is responsible for processing taxes. Here in California it is the Franchise Tax Board. Good luck, hope you get a good return.

Turbotax is the best. Also once you do it the first year, every following year most of your tax information is already implemented, saving you some time.

I'd have them done by a professional especially if it's your first time getting your taxes done.
    Favourite Teams:

    Boston Red Sox: 22-16
Indianapolis Colts: Decent draft, no new wide reciever though.
Detroit Pistons: Looking forward to the draft and whoever the new coach will be
Ottawa Senators: Onto Round 2 vs. Pittsburgh, Game 1 tomorrow night

    Beautiful:

Yup, if all you have is a W-2, do them online. Just enter your info and answer a few q's and boom! I usually file and have my money by now, but the damn IRS isn't accepting returns until the 30th. Lazy *******s.

I don't mind paying an accountant $50 to save me the hassle. But I really should probably do them myself so I learn a thing or two.

    It's super easy to do.

I'm married, have two houses and some deductions and I can do them with turbo tax in twenty minutes.

I volunteer were we do peoples taxes for free. You should look in your area if there is something like that. Usually they have some guidelines on who they will accept and won't.

TaxHawk. It's free for the poor (both state and federal). 12.95 for everyone else. if you've got a w2 it's super simple. if you run your own business/self employed, it's a bit harder.
