Season Opener: Blues v. Red Wings Jan 19

The St. Louis Blues have announced the activities for the 2012-13 season opener vs. Detroit on Saturday, January 19 at Scottrade Center.

Live music from Paint the Earth will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the Scottrade Center atrium. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. to enjoy the pre-game show and player introductions.

All fans in attendance will receive a Rally Towel courtesy of Enterprise. In addition, all fans will receive a coupon good for a FREE 12 oz. Pepsi and a buy one / get one free hot dog. Fans will also receive a coupon good for $10 off a $50 purchase at Famous Footwear locations.

The Bud Light Zone, located on the Club Level, will be open after the game and will feature live music and food / beverage specials after the game.

Fans planning on picking up tickets at the Box Office Will Call are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long lines for ticket pickup.

PROJECTED LINEUP

Head Coach Ken Hitchcock said that Jaroslav Halak would start in goal tonight. He also revealed his defensive pairings, which are listed below. After today's morning skate, we can take a guess at the forward lines, but as always, these are subject to change.

It's worth nothing that it appears Andy McDonald is over his bout with the flu, and it also looks like Jaden Schwartz will start the season in the lineup. He couldn't skate this morning due to a roster-limit technically, but he should be good to go tonight.

Wow! That was a great way to start the season. Hopefully, Stewart keeps playing like he did today. He looked sooo much better than he did last year. Tarasenko looks like he the real deal. And our goaltending is on track with last year.
