Phil never made Pau captain, Kobe, Derek, and Lamar were. In the first 3 peat Kobe, Shaq, and Fox were. Just for reference
No really? phil had Fisher ( 96) Odom ( 04) and Kobe ( 96) as captains? really?

then odom and fisher were gone and a new co-captain was needed.

Three candidates, Bowling for Colymbynum, Brawl champion Hennesey boy and Ex surgeon student captain of team spain.

    Yeah....bad choice right?

Got nothing but love for Pau but the time has come to part ways, I would be surprised if he was a Laker by February.

i will be surprised and angry if he is not traded in the next 10 days.

The earlier he gets traded the more time the new lakers palyers will have to adjust to the team.
also th emore time pau will have to adust with new team and maybe make playoffs ( im assuming raptors or wolves ae the teams wee he can go, and theyare a bit back in the po chase.)

Yea the time is come to do what is needed. We owe Pau that much respect to treat this situation as quick as possible and proffesional.

We need to get maximum possible return. As the user above (Quicktrade) has the right idea though that trade isn't probable. Using a team that really wants Pau like Minny and Toronto as a 3 team ease partner and getting a perfect SYSTEM compliment piece. Like a package around Ryan Anderson.

    FOr the moment lets think.
Wich teams have showed interest? or at least the interest has leaked to the media.

    Knicks.
    Raptors.
    Bulls.
    Warriors.
    Rockets.
    Wolves.

basically those are the teams where the pool of players we can get are.

Joakim? Nah he is a solid player but Deng would be a perfect fit. And the best bet too slow down Durant/Bron not to mention we would hopefully unload some more players like Duhon(salary cap relief) and bring in another big for the rotation and hopefully a LEGIT back up pg sheeeeeeeeesseeeeeesh.

But yea, whoever or for whatever itis, I will always respect Pau for what he did for our beloved Lakers as respect and remember him for his dominance and leadership to Back2Back titles. Hope it's a Win-Win trade and we get a very nice package of players.

I really doubt Mitch is not going to make the best possible trade.

The Lakers should just trade Pau as opposed to having him come off of the bench. Pau has been a class act and a true professional since he's been here and so I will be dissapointed to see him go, but it is time to move on. The Lakers need better depth and players that fit into D'antoni's system as that seems to be the approach management is taking. No reason to keep Pau if he doesn't fit into D'antoni's system and isn't going to be used down low.

One last thing, Pau's not the same player he once was, but I still think he would flourish in a better system and if he were to play at center as opposed to power forward. He doesn't have the quickness and lateral movement to play against a lot of the power forwards in the NBA. The lakers are at a disadvantage when they have him and Howard on the floor together as their frontcourt is too slow. If you think about it, even during the team's title runs, a combination of Lamar and Pau closed most games, especially during the postseason as Pau was more effective at the center spot and not the power forward spot.

Trade Gasol at the Trade Deadline

Minnesota gets Pau Gasol, Rudy Gay, and Jodie Meeks
Lakers get Kevin Love and Kirilenko
Memphis gets Derrick Williams, JJ Barea, plus at least one first round pick from Minnesota and maybe two

a 3 way trade between those teams would help crazy idea but **** idk we need something we can add one more player
