He averaged 16.9 points, 5.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds a game in 31.5 minutes at the break (he got injured and didn't even play). He shot 50.4% from the field and 44.6% from three. 88.0% from the line too. Those are insane averages. He was flirting with the legendary 50/40/90 club.
A lot of Knicks fans were clamoring for Ray Felton to make it.
He was averaging 17/8/3 at the break, which looks great and all...but he was shooting 41% from the field and 30% from three. He was far less efficient. His PER was way less. He had fewer win shares. There was no advanced metric out there suggesting he was playing better than Nelson, not a single one.
There wasn't much competition at the point guard spot.
Mo Williams was having a lesser year, but did eventually get in (for Bosh). Iverson was the starter. It was a weak class for East PGs...but he deserved it compared to his peers.
This year it's gotta be KG.
dwight howard doesn't deserve this years all star....r u kidding me
BJ Armstrong was the one to give birth to my fade but hes no All-Star
Yao when he was injured lol
LETS GO HEAT
Iverson got the fan vote but remember he had been traded at the start of the season to Detroit and was putting up solid numbers playing out of position/role to replace Chauncey.
He was still arguably the most popular guard in the NBA along with Kobe in terms of fanbase.
It wasnt until after the game that Iverson never really played again.
i think mo williams. a.i. was actually a great player just past his prime. although mo avg career highs that season he just rode the coattails of lebron into the all star game. and just got in bc of injury (ironic that it was to chris bosh lol). but after lebrons depaurature and prior to his arrival to cle u saw the true player that he is.
I think Lebron is just the best all-around player we have in the game today.-Magic Johnson
