D'Antoni said the decision to bring Gasol in off the bench was a combination of conditioning concerns along with the fact Miami plays with a smaller starting lineup than most teams to accommodate its up-and-down style of play.

Gasol and D'Antoni have already spoken about the Spaniard returning to the starting lineup when the Lakers begin their three-game road trip Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.

"Sunday we'll re-evaluate everything and go back to normal, probably," D'Antoni said.

^ I'm not sure why you are always acting like Pau's mother. Let him play first before you come rushing to his defense. I don't think anything up to this point has been Pau's fault, but at the same time I do feel he is not a player that will contribute to us winning on a nightly basis in this environment. Once again, not his fault but I could see why some people might use him as a scapegoat since he has a history of making significant contributions albeit in an entirely different role.

I really hope Pau stays on the bench. He will be most effective there, so he doesn't clog the lane with Dwight.

you just dont get it, he doesn't work well along side Dwight.

YES we won a championship with him at pf alongside Bynum but at least half the time he was at center with Odom at PF.

I think its worth a shot for a couple games, i hope they dont just try against mia and then switch to something else. give it a shot, Pau could flourish if hes aggressive against others second units

d'antoni left him in too long and james tore him up then he put him in with dwight in the 4th.

Pau needs to learn to sacrifice the team for his freakin pride.

Additionally the Lakers forward-center expects to be on the floor in the final moments of games.

Pau has spoken, he ain't cool with coming off the bench. He expects to start and he expects to finish games which brings up two problems. One if we starT him, his d is bad so we start the game at a deficit. Him expecting to finish is bad because he can't be an anchor on D at C.

Pau has handled this poorly, and at the end of the day he just can't defend like odom could when he closed
