Will Chip Kelly be more like Caroll and Harbaugh or Saben and Petrino?

Pete Caroll and Jim Harbaugh seem to be making the transition fairly well to the NFL, while we all remember the disaster that was Nick Saben and Bobby Petrino coaching in the NFL.

A lot of people ask me, 'Kenny Powers, you're a giant superstar. You can get any woman. Have you ever paid for sex?' And the answer is yes, I have. Several times, in fact. And it's actually kinda cool. You can negotiate practically anything and sometimes, even just kind of do stuff in the moment that you never agreed to pay for and it goes by without much argument.

I think he'll find success in the NFL. He's on a good team to do so too.

Excited to see what he does.

I think he will work out fine. They should load up and go for it in year 1 because NFL teams have no idea what is coming and if they do adjust, it will take a while.

Will not having NFL experience really hurt him?

More like Pete Carroll, ditching Oregon right before sanctions come

Being banned is like going to a correctional facility, it doesn't correct anything, in fact, it makes you worse

How many times are different threads going to ask the same question?

The better thread would have been, what former FBS Div. HC (that brought a new system) to HC in The NFL is Chip Kelly going to be like??

Or just, what former FBS Div. HC (that brought a new system) to HC in The NFL is Chip Kelly like?

Chip Kelly isn't stupid, and I'm sure he'll quickly adapt a new scheme similar but not even close to the one he ran here in Oregon. Personally, I think he'll be successful. But then again, I'm a Duck.

I may be alone on this but who cares Caroll shouldn't have to monitor kids whether there getting payed or getting presents no College coach should.

Anyways Jim Harbaugh and Pete Caroll are different from Chip Kelly since they had NFL experience as coaches so we will see Harbaugh and Caroll didn't just jump straight from College.

    Pete Carroll
1984 Buffalo Bills Defensive Backs Coach
1985-1989 Minnesota Vikings Defensive Backs Coach
1990-1993 New York Jets Defensive Coordinator
1994 New York Jets Head Coach (6-10, no playoffs)
1995-1996 San Francisco 49ers Defensive Coordingator
1997-1999 New England Patriots Head Coach (27-21, 1-2 in playoffs)
    2010-Present Seattle Seahawks (25-23, 2-2 playoffs)

    Jim Harbaugh
1987-2001 NFL QB, made the Pro Bowl in '95, had 15 fourth quarter comebacks and led 19 game winning drives
    2002-2003 Oakland Raiders Quarterbacks Coach
2011-Present San Francisco 49ers Head Coach (24-8, 2-1 in playoffs)

    Nick Saban
1988-1989 Houston Oilers Defensive Backs Coach
    1991-1994 Cleveland Browns Defensive Coordinator
2005-2006 Miami Dolphins Head Coach (15-17, no playoffs)

    Bobby Petrino
    1999-2000 Jacksonville Jaguars Quarterbacks Coach
    2001 Jacksonville Jaguars Offensive Coordinator
2007 Atlanta Falcons Head Coach (3-10, no playoffs)

    Chip Kelly
    Has absolutely no NFL experience

Every coach that this thread is comparing him to had prior NFL experience, so I'm not sure that the comparisons are all that accurate. He could end up being a very good coach, but I'd say it's far from a guarantee due to the fact that hes never held any coaching position in the NFL.

As an Eagles fan I think he's going to fail. We already have a small soft team, and I think Kelly is going to bring more of the same. Why couldn't I be born a Seahawks or Pats fan?

Well, how old are you? The Hawks and Pats weren't always good... I'm young, so I wasn't around for those dark times.
