    Instant Replay is beyond necessary.

Love the umps, but they aren't the human element we need to be seeing. Players deserve to get the calls they earn.

I just don't get why Selig is dragging his feet at a snail's pace about this. It's blatantly obvious baseball needs it. What the **** is the hang up?

Oh wait, what am I talking about? Attendance is high, we don't need it. Stupid me

Because attendance is up, didn't you hear?

That means the fans are happy with the way the game is being played so Instant Replay isn't necessary because the fans are coming to games.

    gosh!

The real news here is that might be the first ESPN article I've ever read which didn't require me to be an "insider"

I could care less. We have gone decades without it, so why now? Yes, umps make bad calls. They're humans. It happens. Part of the game like it is to being part of a job or anything else. If majority of fans want this then let it be....

Why do we need to have all the correct calls?

Yeah not that the most popular sport in North America uses it on every TD, (seems like) every turnover, etc etc?

    Would definitely hurt business

    Bud Selig is an idiot.

I don't understand how anyone can be against righting a wrong made by an umpire.

It seems the best system would be adding a 5th umpire to each crew, have him off the field available to check video replays. When a team feels that the umpire got a call wrong, they issue a challenge. If they're proven correct, then they keep the ability to make another challenge. If not, they lose it for the rest of the game.
