The risk for the Sox is almost inexistent but they should probably make a trade involving Salty for a backup 1B that can actually play everyday if need be. I'm a Smoak fan, but there's other options.

Unless Salty gets traded and one of Ross/Lavarnway get hurt, then no.

Wow, the injury resulted in a great value for the Red Sox.

He has been one of Lackey's favorite catchers, but given that hip I have to figure he's emergency only.

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

Bet he wishes he could go back and take the 3 for 38 Texas offered last offseason.
