I thought we could use this particular game thread a couple of days early. Big hockey game coming Saturday needs at least a few days worth of discussion.

Words cannot describe how much I want this one. First game of the season, division rival, avenge the playoff loss, and... it's Philly, that alone is enough.

Still a couple of questions regarding the lineup but those should all be cleared up by midday tomorrow at the latest I would think.

Briere is out for them. They lose some offense but probably gain some physicality as a result

Didn't realize Briere was out. Hmm I should probably start paying more attention now since hockey season is back. Maybe I'll replace him with someone.

Fleury I believe. Why would you think there is a chance of it being Vokoun? Not insulting you, just wondering if you had heard something

I was thinking that since there were back to back games, and Fleury played very well against the Rangers last year and very badly against the Flyers, maybe they'd give Vokoun the game against the Flyers and Fleury the game against the Rags.

Sound logic but I think for the sake of showing Fleury that Vokoun is indeed the backup, they'd give him the start. He also needs to show that the playoffs were a fluke and he can beat these guys
