I was really high on him till last year. Maybe he figures it out, but I would prefer only one of him or Beavan in the rotation

    Sure.

I meant I had high hopes for him going into the season.

    And yeah, I nitpick..

What does being high have to do with pitching?

    Good ol' Dock Ellis.

I didn't click on that video, but I assume it's that awesome cartoon video of someone narrating his LSD story.

EDIT: Yup. That vid is awesome.

I love that vid... I don't know how many times I've told that story to non-baseball fans, only to have to google it to prove I'm not lying. I've always wondered if there was any actual footage of the game available online though...

wanted to discuss 2013 lineup again. ive heard guti could be in leadoff(which i like), he def needs to hit 1-3 vs LHP and id put him up there everyday til someone can take it from him... ive seen saunders in the 5 hole a few times in ST dont know if it means anything but i like him 1-2, he can be good 5 or 6 also. ive seen mock lineups and i think ST where seager is in 2 hole which i understand, but he has such a knact w/ runners on. the only 2 givins id say are morales, morse being MOTO... id like smoak, ackley to be dropped back to take pressure off and til they can prove they can hit higher up. i think it'd benefit to have montero placed where he gets the best pitches (between leftys so he draws a few more LH matchups).

    guti CF
    saunders LF
    montero C
    morales DH
    morse RF
    seager 3b
    smoak 1b
    ryan ss
    ackley 2b

in a sense its kinda pointless to talk lineup i guess since wedge is going to reshuffle every damn game.... i really hope he can get a consistent day to day lineup but i guess alot of that falls on the players. the best Mariner teams and teams in general i see are when a casual fan can predict the lineup card before it is announced.

Only thing I would do is change Montero to batting 3rd against LHP, and 6th against RHP, slide everyone else accordingly. I don't want Montero out of the thick of the order, but he needs to prove to me he can hit RHPs better before I move him up against right-handers. At the same time, personally, I love his bat 3rd against LHP.

My bad, I meant to do something like that.

But then who hits 4th against righties? Morales still?

as much as i hate the thought of ackley being leadoff.... we dont really have other options.... guti is ideally 6 or 7 hitter vs RHP, saunders has 1 decent yr but for his career he is no better than ackley (slightly worse)... i think seager's OB goes down if he hits 1 or 2 bc he is so comfortable w/ runners on.... im still in favor of saunders and guti at TOTO, i think they'll be better than ackley this yr.

what bothers me is we were an average power team last year and poor OB team yet we emphasize adding power and ignore OB...

Where Seager hits shouldn't affect how he hits. Comfort shouldn't play a role IMO. People should just hit no matter what.

That's why when people say Ichiro could have been a power hitter it pisses me off. Cause if that was true, I hope he would have done so. Would have been a much better hitter overall.
