http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...ree-team-deal/The Nationals traded slugger Michael Morse to the Seattle Mariners in a three-way trade that netted them right-hander A.J. Cole, the pitching prospect who last winter served as the centerpiece of the trade that brought Gio Gonzalez from the Oakland A’s to the Nationals. The Mariners sent catcher John Jaso to the Oakland to complete the deal.
Looks like more coming to DC as well...
@acomakHearing in addition to getting A.J. Cole back the #nats will also get a "good" prospect and a PTBNL in the deal for Morse.
Official from the NatsThe #Nationals have acquired RHP A.J. Cole, RHP Blake Treinen and a player to be named from Oakland in exchange for Michael Morse.
Nice to have Cole back but sad to see the beast go but he deserved to play everyday and he was not gonna do that here.
Yeah, also kind of sad to see the Beast go, but life moves on.....
he was a flawed player, the shame is the Nats didn't get any value for this year in the deal. Surprised they didn't match up with the O's and try to get Brian Matusz or Troy Patton (both lefty relievers)

I wish we would have held onto Morse for awhile. Look at how many injuries we had last year. If anyone of our OFs or LaRoche get injured it would be huge to have Morse. Since he can play both corner OF spots, 1B, or DH against the AL he would have a lot of opportunities to play even if someone didn't get injured. We may have been able to get more for him if we held onto him for awhile because teams might get more desperate as we get closer to the season or after the season starts.
