#cool
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...ree-team-deal/The Nationals traded slugger Michael Morse to the Seattle Mariners in a three-way trade that netted them right-hander A.J. Cole, the pitching prospect who last winter served as the centerpiece of the trade that brought Gio Gonzalez from the Oakland A’s to the Nationals. The Mariners sent catcher John Jaso to the Oakland to complete the deal.
Wait.. what the ****?
Oakland traded AJ Cole for John Jaso?
I like this trade for the Nats.
Cole didn't have the 2012 people were hoping for but I like how the Nats were able to get him back. Hopefully the system can develop him well.
Amanda Comak @acomak
Hearing in addition to getting A.J. Cole back the #nats will also get a "good" prospect and a PTBNL in the deal for Morse

More players, not bad. Looks like a decent enough haul for Morse. Can't complain.
Glad to have AJ cole back in the system he was a big piece lost in the Gio deal glad we got him back.
Really like this for the Nats
I don't get this for the Mariners. They need offense so they do that by trading their best hitter in 2012 (vs. RHP) for one year of a guy who had a worse OPS. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Mike Morse and John Jaso sound like Marvel superhero secret identities.
Not a fan. Especially since that "good prospect" will probably be from us. Guess they think Zunino will be here soon.
I think Jaso, all things considered, is > Morse
Wow, Nats just took both teams to the cleaners

I think this is more of Billy Beane wanting his guy and willing to give up Cole, who as mentioned before, didn't have the 2012 people were hoping for.
The Nats win this deal in terms of value right now, but I don't think it's a terrible deal. Beane has a different way of valuing players, so who knows.
