Yeah it's not an unreasonable suggestion. I mean, there has to be some kind of motivation for this, right? Doesn't seem like there was any financial gain here (which would make this much, much worse), so what else could it be? I don't know if I'm cynical enough to think that they fabricated all of this with winning Heisman votes in mind, and I really can't think of anything else. I'm not saying that is the case, but it is plausible.

I didn't think of it until my girl put 2 and 2 together. If this isn't financial gain. His parents knew the girl, they knew this kid was going to the NFL and his social life needed to be discreet. So make up a gf and avoid the questions, make up the death so her social life continues and no one bothers Teo. You can't catfish yourself.
