Thumbs up You're the 49ers GM going into the offseason...

Alright, so like the thread title states, you are the GM going into the offseason where we need to do some work to get the team back to how its been this past season.

$121,000,000 Salary Cap- $3,273,000 in cap space

(As of now, the 49ers have just over $120.594M in committed salaries for the 2013 season. If the cap is $121M,, credit of $1.643M, and carryover are added, they would have a little over $3.273M in cap room)

Total $406,481: Dead money for 2013

**If you cut a player, you eat the signing bonus and it becomes dead money against the cap**

Lock up Goldson, trade Alex for some 2nd or 3rd round picks, and see what I can find to strengthen that secondary around Culliver.

For starters, will come back later.

Obviously Goldson is the biggest name on this list...so him aside...

I get the feeling that if he gets a ring, Randy hangs 'em up on top. If we DONT get one this season, I think he really likes this team, so if he wants another chance, absolutely make the offer.

Give Isaac a big THANK YOU hug and let him go.

Bye Bye, Ted Ginn. Your only useful role will be better served by LaMike and KW

If Larry Grant wants to compete for a starting job somewhere, I don't blame him. But I REALLY like keeping him around for depth and security if we can.

Butterfingers Walker?? Jeez.. if not for this surge in rapport he's showing with Kaep, I was cool with him walking. Weigh our options and see...

If I'm the GM of the 49ers I am going to really question the intelligence of our FO. I mean, Baalke seemed to be doing so well.

But I'd want to lock up Goldson, draft a young DL, youngCB and take some chances in the later rounds on a couple guys like Honey Badger. That's the luxury of being good, you can do that. Going to have to trim some fat, I understand that, but I'll leave that to my predecessor Baalke

What can I say? I live life on the razors edge..

Really though, this thread will play better after SB. Hard for everyone to focus on this when we are still playing. No offense.

Oh I know. I just put it up now to get it out there, get a little talk. I fully expect/hope people dig into this after the season.

    Again, WSG is not allowed

Explore the idea of coming back for one year in bold

    Randy Moss WR UFA
    Tramaine Brock CB RFA

    Billy Cundiff K UFA
    Leonard Davis G UFA
    Ted Ginn Jr. WR UFA
Dashon Goldson S UFA S: Franchise: $6.798 Transition: $5.899 (If you want to tag Goldy)
    Tavares Gooden LB UFA
Larry Grant LB UFA -- might be hard to bring back
    Clark Haggans LB UFA
    Ricky Jean Francois DE UFA
    Darcel McBath S RFA
    Isaac Sopoaga DT UFA
    Delanie Walker TE UFA
    Ian Williams DT RFA--maybe

cut akers, restructure manningham's contract and offer him an extra year of non-guaranteed money, trade smith and or try to package him to a team that would allowed us to move up the draft and since we dont a lot of availabe roster spots i want to see us move up the draft and get an impact player like how Julio Jones was to Atlanta(however, on the defensive side. preferably a DE, DT, NT, CB)

maybe explore the idea of bringing in wallace . Kaep has a good arm that can complement his speed. he kinda sucked this year

I like the draft idea. Trying to package Alex with draft picks and move way up. Perhaps the Bills? But who do we take? That's almost no man's land for us, at least right now. I'm sure after the combine players will shoot up an down of course
