Just saw that on ESPN Dallas as well... Really disappointing. I think Jimmy Robinson has done wonders to help Dez. He most likely had some hand in Harris & Laurent last year. He was most likely my favorite assistant coach on this team.

The funny thing is that I think everyone agrees that Jerry should go. You make good points but I think you go a little overboard and exaggerate how bad he is. Isn't it enough that we think he should go?

maybe i do, but i'm sure where i do. i look at it this way:

Every year for the past 17 years fans of the Dallas Cowboys have been duped into believing that we need this piece or that piece and we'll be back at the mountain top. We've mixed and matched so many pieces of this team that nothing has worked. My argument is that the problem lies with the guy doing the mixing and matching.

It's the only thing that hasn't been changed and his way of doing things hasn't worked so in my mind he's the problem with the team and they won't get back to the mountain top while he's the one calling the shots.

In my mind if he's the problem, and i don't really believe the majority feel that he is, then why discuss a coaching change, a draft, or a free agent when none of which will elevate this team to success?

Do you honestly believe the Dallas Cowboys can win it all? Because if you do then Jerry isn't a problem.

So Kiffin is in, Marinelli is in, and now the Garrett loses playing calling to Callahan.
Just a crazy theory but all of these guys worked under Jon Gruden, think Jerry might be getting ready to make a run at him as HC?

I heard Jimmy Robinson is leaving because of personal problems. Hope he stays though.

    Here's what Jerry said:

Not this season, but a possibility if we don't make the playoffs again next season.

Yeah, thedon, don't you feel like we need that surehanded guy that has a real vision of how this team should be built. I feel like that's what Jimmy had. Jimmy was probably a more brilliant architect than coach. Jerry is probably more reactionary and makes moves sometimes like a fan with money, than a rare jeweler specialist like Jimmy who knew what something was worth and good hustle guys by getting the better end of a deal.

Jerry Jones knows how to make money. That's his expertise, albeit in oil or football. He knows how to generate a profit. What he doesn't know is how to create a winning football franchise.

It's a like a chef, he knows how to create passion on a plate, but does he know the business aspect of being a restauranteur? Sometimes a chef needs to hire in a front of the house manager to handle that aspect while he handles the food aspect.

That's why the marriage between both JJ's was a blessing. One knew the football side, while the other knew the money side. Neither got in each others way and they worked off each others strengths. It only changed when Jerry wanted the spotlight. Jimmy quoted him saying "no one cares about how much money i make, they care about 2nd string guards". That was when Jimmy walked and Jerry took over. Ever since then it's been day late and a dollar short.

I'd love Gruden, Cowher, Dungy, Holmgren, any of those guys because when left alone to create, they are one of a kind. Maybe another bad season will make Jerry consider trying a coach who can have more control, but who knows...

LOL. True. We need a freaking GM though...even more than a coach. Some coaches are great coaches but aren't particularly good at building teams. Former bottomdwllers-- 49ers, Ravens (formerly Browns) and Seahawks have all already rebuilt! and we're still in that 8-8 mediocre sandtrap.

I read that cowboys are looking at gary brown for running back coach. He is from williamsport pa which is where I was born lol. I axtually met him at some church like 7 years ago with a bunch of other former pennstate players and frank reich. The guy was a pretty good player back in the day so he might be a good coach.

Talk about starting at the bottom and working your way up. Brown started at Lycoming College then moved up to Susquehanna University then to Rutgers University before coaching in the NFL with Cleveland Browns. As far as I know he has earned his way up he has not ridden any ones coat tails. He would be a good guy to have on our coaching staff. Yes I am a little bias!!! (PSU)
