AA Confirms 5 Blue Jays Will Be Playing In the WBC

    http://sports.nationalpost.com/2013/...icked-for-wbc/

Brett Lawrie will play for Canada, R.A. Dickey for the U.S. and Jose Reyes and Edwin Encarnacion for the Dominican Republic.
Looks like we are going to see JP and RA playing together for the US.
That could be one of the reasons JP wanted to catch RA, gives him an edge for the US team.

Did no other half decent American catcher want to participate in this event?

That's a super weird choice. Kinda sucks for the Jays too, rather have him working everyday with Toronto pitchers and getting AB's as needed as opposed to riding the pine for team USA.

It actually says that JP is likely to be 3rd choice catcher there. But, i assume because RA will be there too, none of the other 2 catchers will be able to catch RA.

Probably so far but then again, if EE and Reyes are on there, you'd think their national list is already final, but who knows.
