Yankees Monitoring Javier Vazquez in Winter Ball

There are men, in all ages, who mean to exercise power usefully; but who mean to exercise it. They mean to govern well; but they mean to govern. They promise to be kind masters; but they mean to be masters.

They are monitoring, no where does it indicate they will sign him.

    They monitor plenty of guys.

The Yankees are one of several teams who have been watching Javy Vazquez‘s recent winter ball outings in Puerto Rico.
Sounds like the signing will come any minute.

For all the hype about Hughes, Joba and what a great rotation we have, why do we need to give this clown a 3rd chance unless he's volunteering for bullpen duty.

    No.

    Just

    No.

Vazquez put together a good 2nd half for Fla two years ago but this guy has been a veritable train wreck in any type of high pressure environment. Mid season or 5th starter injury replacement if Joba and Pineda are back to banging tequila shooters but otherwise no.

Not even if he's willing to take a Colon-type deal for 1M or so?

What the f&ck is Cashmans obsession with this guy.

    Get over it Brian.

    He's not a good Yankee.

No amount of revisionist history can rewrite that story.

Dude, I really, really, really, really, really, really can't stand Vazquez.

He always puts up respectable numbers in low brow scenarios and then becomes a psychological circus freak in the clutch.

I would only even entertain this if CC or Kuroda were hurt.

It doesn't mention anywhere in the article that they may sign him, they are "monitoring him" and "several teams are interested"

I highly doubt they sign him.

I R-E-A-L-L-Y hope Cashman is just in PR as an excuse to take in the eye candy.

For what it's worth, I suspect Vazquez would prefer to pitch elsewhere too.
