I know this may be a sore subject on these boards-but since its been a slow couple of weeks and the GM search appears endless, I thought I would bring this up for debate. Given our marginal cap room (I know its not as bad as the media suggests, but no one would say its good)-and our general lack of talent at marquis positions like QB, RB, etc going into next season. Would you be dissapointed going 3-13 next year and having the opportunity to draft Jadeveon Clowney? Clowney is a special, special prospect, he's been the number 1 ranked DL in his class since his junior year of high school, has the SEC pedigree and all the proper size requirements for being an elite pass rusher at the nfl level. Everything about this kid screams annual 15+ sack seasons. He may be the best pass rushing prospect I've ever seen. Take a look at this recent hit in their outback bowl game vs michigan

That is elite, special speed and power. Is it worth tanking this team moving wilkerson inside and going after this monster? I can't remember the last DL as special as this kid.

Could you imagine a healthy revis and cromartie locking people down and wilk coples and clowney rushing the qb? you could literally have practice squadders and 6th round picks at the other positions.

we have no offensive players next year-as things stand we only have 10 starters returning and limited cap room..we're certainly in the running.

Does that mean we don't have to try a pass rusher this year? As things stand, if we do go for pass rushers and LBs this year (not that we don't need a LB) - then we're very likely to be picking @ the top next year. Not that this kid isn't a "manimal." He looks awesome

If he stays at the level he is playing at or even I think it maybe impossible to play better, he will be the #1 pick no matter what. Before 2 years ago everyone knew Luck would be the first pick unless it was a need, Clowney is a need for every team. You don't wanna be the team to pass him

With that saying even if Sanchez as our starting QB we are not the worse team in the league we still have more talent than some and a couple best players at their position (Revis, arguably a Healthy Mangold) and we have rising possible top player talent

And I don't think anyone would trade the pick unless it's for the next 3 drafts

I'd there's a defensive equivalent of a prospect I would throw a season for in the NFL, Clowney would be it. He is a game changer.

That said, I cannot actively promote losing.

I keep seeing this guys name after the Bowl game, and he's already annointed a top draft prospect. I keep asking myself who would volunteerily draft a Louisville QB...

Really, drafting a LB will be catastrophic? There are a ton of decisions to be made for this team. Probably a little early to make such a projection.

Sucks there's no good QBs in this draft class. To have a top ten pick and there's no good qb's worth that pick is crappy.
