NL East Teams Looking Into Brandon Webb

3x All Star and 2006 CY Young Award winner Brandon Webb has drawn the attention of the Nationals, Mets, Phillies, and Marlins. Webb is expected to throw his bullpen at some point during the month and the Rockies and Twins are reportedly expected to be on hand for that as well.

Webb 33 years old, sports a career record of 87 - 62 but injuries have derailed his career and he's looking to make a comeback.

Hope things work out for him. The guy was actually a talented pitcher before injuries set in.
With the deepest of regrets I am announcing that I will be leaving Pro Sports Daily. No reason in particular but wanted to thank everyone for a great 6 years here. Lots of great discussion and good poll series as well. Also fun re-drafts. Best of luck to you all in the future.

Hopefully he can get an opportunity, wouldn't be shocked to see the Marlins give him a chance.

I doubt he can get through a ST without some kind of arm injury.

It does sound like someone the Mets would be interested in though with all the penny pinching lol.

I honestly believe he will have a job. Colorado at worst will take a chance because he was a sinker ball pitcher that could dominate in the lower part of the strike zone. Colorado needs sinker ball pitchers and out rotation is brutal.

Why not take a chance with him? A desperate team like the Mets could use any help they can get.

I remember when there use to be arguments of who was the best pitcher back in the day. It was usually between Webb, Halladay, and Santana

Now they look like shadows of their former selves (at least Santana and certainly Webb)

I'm always down for giving Brandon Webb another shot. Do it, Phils.

Same. He was a top 5 pitcher in the game before injuries closed the door. He's been in a mess for years.. hopefully he catches a break and can turn things around like Jake Peavy did.
