    I have zero issues with Cubs position players playing in this thing. As long as they get AB's, it's probably good for them. That shouldn't be an issue here, as I'm guessing Rizzo will be one of their better players. Not sure how I feel about pitchers participating, as I don't remember how carefully they've been handled in the past.

    I believe they have the DH. There's no way the Italian team is going to let one of their two best players (considering the Italian team is pretty empty) sit on the bench.

    Well they won't have to worry about it because Votto, a Canadian, will be playing for Canada - if he plays at all.

    Can't say I get real pumped for it, but it's still competitive baseball and more fun to watch than spring training. I'm in favor of the WBC.
