@Ken_Rosenthal: Source: Free-agent IF Bill Hall agrees to minor-league contract with #Angels. Deal includes an invitation to major-league spring training.

@MikeDiGiovanna: #Angels saw Billy Hall work out in Phoenix Tues. He's open to playing in triple-A, where team needs RH bats. Would make about $500K in BLs.

I like this signing, good depth if Romine doesn't work out

Wow, pretty solid news! Vizquel was awesome, and Hall sounds like good depth.

Angels sign Bill Hall to minor league deal

Angels sign utility player Bill Hall to minor league deal
    By Mike DiGiovanna
    January 30, 2013, 6:27 p.m.

The Angels have agreed to terms with veteran utility player Bill Hall, 33, on a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.

The right-handed-hitting Hall, who can play third base, shortstop, second base and the outfield, will compete for a reserve spot with the Angels, who watched him work out Tuesday in Phoenix. But he is also open to playing at triple-A Salt Lake, which is short on right-handed bats, General Manager Jerry Dipoto said.

Hall has played with six teams over the last four years and spent most of 2012 at triple-A Norfolk, where he hit .246 in 90 games, with 15 homers and 45 runs batted in.

He appeared in only seven big league games for the Baltimore Orioles.

Hall spent the first eight years of his career in Milwaukee and had his best season in 2006, when he hit .270 with 35 homers, 39 doubles and 85 RBIs.

His split contract with the Angels will pay him a little more than $500,000 a year if heís on the big-league roster.

I hope being a H&S spokesperson doesn't make him injury prone.

@MikeDiGiovanna: #Angels are nearing minor league deal with Japanese reliever Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who went 1-5 w/3.00 ERA in 42 G for Hanshin Tigers in 2011.

@MikeDiGiovanna: The #Angels' minor league deal for Hiroyuki Kobayashi, a 34-year-old RHP, will most likely include an invitation to spring training.

@JeffFletcherOCR: Confirmed #Angels expected to bring Japanese RHP Hiroyuki Kobayshi, 33, to camp on a minor lg deal. Career 3.54 ERA in Japan.
