Justin Verlander will not be part of Team USA for the World Baseball Classic

USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that while Justin Verlander will not be part of the United States' provisional World Baseball Class roster, he could wind up changing his mind.
Nightengale says Verlander could have a change of heart "if his arm feels strong by next month." Obviously, his inclusion on the roster would be a boost to the United States' chances. Provisional rosters will be released on Thursday.

Disappointing but I'd rather him be ready for the regular season.

I don't mind the hitters going. It probably helps them more then playing ST games against AA guys.
