Obviously Matt Bonner and Steve Blake isn't the best in the NBA, but there are guys ahead of Martin. I'm curious to know how they make these rankings.....

That list is total made free throws for the season divided by total attempted for the season. The reason those random players are so high is because they've taken and made like 2 free throws.

The NBA has thresholds for its leaders though. To be eligible to be on the official free throw leader list at the end of the season you need to have made at least 125 free throws. ESPN's list is like the updated minimum threshold list. Kevin Martin is the leader in free throw percentage while also satisfying the minimum threshold for free throws made. Jimmer is 2nd.

yep. Most sports stats require players to be qualified. Baseball requires players to have a certain amount of AB's to qualify for the batting title and NBA requires it's players to have a certain amount of FT attempts to qualify for FT%.

You can't just shoot one FT or 3 pointer or whatever and be qualified. Jimmer is now top 10 in 3pt % and #2 in FT % and Martin missed one tonight, so possibly number 1.
