Sandy Alderson watched former San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson in a private workout Saturday, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Wilson is returning from Tommy John surgery.

I've never really liked the guy but I can't say no to a low risk high reward deal

How about turning strong interest into action for once?

And "ultimately," Alderson said, "we're judged on whether we win or lose."

I would LOOOVVVVEEEEEEEEE Wilson in a Mets uniform. Not only would he be a good closer, but he could make so much money for the team by selling jerseys, t-shirts, fake beards.

    He would be great.

I hated this guy, kinda still do but I'd love if we added him to our team. I guess we can use a guy with his character too.

    Fat Frank or the beard?

Ooh let me think about that.

    What's to debate here?

Everyone here seems to be in favor of Wilson.

Prediction: if we don't sign him, there will be screams about how terrible we are, how stupid and cheap we are, how we are not looking to improve, blah blah blah.

Why not wait until the scouting reports and medical records are in? We don't know if he is really healthy or not. I don't want ANY wasted money, because as we all know, the funds are limited.
I really should develop a sig, huh?

Major stumbling block: He wants to be paid in US dollars. Sandy wants to pay him in jelly beans.

Now the Zen master says, "We'll see."
