I think the concerns with david lees contract are now and have always been based on what his contract will look like in a few years. The last few yrs and right now- david lees pay rate and his production have been at a reasonable ratio. Maybe a touch high early on, but compared to contracts like biedrins and jefferson.... nothing horrible.

The concern with David lees contract is that in the 5th and 6th year, he will be 32 and 33 yrs old and making close to 15 million a yr. Right now the team is doing well, and david lee is in the prime of his career. He can probably play at this level for the next yr to yr and a half. Towards the end of his contract, Lee might be like a 15 and 8 guy... making 15 million a yr.

On the bright side- as david lee starts to slip, its likely that barnes and/or thompson will become the type of player that can carry a team.

    next 5 games

very tough stretch. New Orleans is playing well, with a strong front line. We could lose all 5. Now we will see how deep our good D goes. BTW that was Klay Thompson defending Damian Lillard at the end of the last game and doing OK too.

He will age better than most due to good fundamentals. He is not a Josh Smith or an Amare who relies exclusively on their athleticism,
