For those who think we are sitting on our hands. I would be intrigued with Martz

Oh my dear Lord. Please keep Mike Martz as far away from this team as possible.

I'd be OK with that move. Although, isn't he more of a pass first guy?
That would be a big change in the thought process.

    NEWS!

Mike Martz ran a nuanced, sophisticated version of the vertical passing offense. There are very few QB's who would succeed in a Martz offense, but Palmer might be one of them; he might flourish, really.

Juan Castillo left a gaping hole in the Eagle O/L - after he was moved to DC, the Eagles blocking got progressively worse.

To be honest, I'm not sure what kind of blocking scheme Castillo ran... but I don't think the Eagles ran a ZBS under Castillo. I could be mistaken.

Mike Martz / Castillo, if hired, would run a more 'traditional' Raider offense. In a vacuum, their being interviewed would indicate a switch back to the old school, pass-oriented VPS / PBS offense Al always favored...

Raiders Offense - TM - Raiders
According to the Contra Costa Times, the Raiders have interviewed former Rams head coach Mike Martz for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
The Raiders' current personnel struggles mightily in pass protection, so the potential Martz marriage would seem to be a rough fit barring heavy offseason turnover in Oakland. And the Raiders are cap-strapped due to the financial mess left behind by Al Davis. Per the same report, the Raiders have also contacted Juan Castillo about coaching their offensive line.

    Norv Turner ('04 - '05) might disagree.

But, that brief period excluded, you're absolutely correct. It's been a steady stream of crap coaches on both sides of the ball for the past decade.

On February 1, 2010, Martz was hired by the Chicago Bears as their offensive coordinator.[6] During his first year in Chicago, the Bears offense was 28th in passing and 22nd in rushing despite having no significant injuries.

Martz was commonly criticized for aggressive play-calling, and the calls for a pass-happy offense led to quarterback Jay Cutler getting repeatedly sacked. The issue caused Cutler to say to Martz "Tell him I said **** him!" in a game against the Minnesota Vikings in 2011.[7][8]

On January 3, 2012, Martz resigned his position with the Bears.[9] He reportedly resigned over philosophical differences with Bears head coach Lovie Smith. Martz's final year was marked by season-ending injuries to quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte. On January 16, 2012, Martz announced his retirement from coaching.[10][11]

Do the Harbaugh's have another brother out there? Maybe we should interview him!
