Cody Franson resigned

According to bob mckenzie once the mua is signed the leafs will announce they have signed Cody Franson to a 1 year deal for just over a million.

I'm pretty disappointed in this I think Cody Franson should have been looked up for 3 more years he shows a lot of upside and promise in the future.

Seems like once the mua is signed they're going to be numerous of signings and trades many analysts have been reporting. I get the feeling the next 3 days will be just as exciting as the trade deadline.

The whole period of time before the season starts will be very, very interesting. As will the trade deadline I believe. But this summer when the buyouts come into effect and the cap goes down, that's when you're going to see alot of action I think. Franson for one year is ok. He'll still be under control as an RFA at seasons end so we have him under control. He's got to show something this year when he gets a chance. He's got skill.

Was gonna ask if he's still a RFA, guess he is. His name isn't even on NHLnumbers.com unless I'm blind. I think he's traidbait. Too many offensive dmen already and I'm sure the new ownership wouldn't mind getting rid of some of Burke's guys. Tends to happen with a new(ish) regime.

He could very well be trade bait. I think he moves a bit slow and gets burned too often but others on here tend to disagree. But yeah, with Phanuef, Liles, Gardiner, Gunnarsson to a certain extent, Morgan Rielly maybe getting a 5 or 6 game look, plus some of the kids we drafted like Percy and Blacker and we're loaded with offense. A trade makes sence. Maybe in a package. Although I have no idea with who or where or for what.

Franson will still be an RFA after this one. It's either a trade bait year or more of a glorified tryout to see if he can earn himself a more lucrative contract. He'll get a lot more playing time this year and I hope he runs with it and proves he's worth an investment.
