    Mike Napoli

Not sure if this is thread worthy.....move if necessary.

But there are rumblings that the Sox want him to take one year or bail.

If he's accepting one year, he will look to explore other teams.

Depending on hip issue, could be a nice one year right handed stopgap at DH and part time C.

    Thoughts?

I have no problem with one year deals. Plus, it weakens the Sox.

Throw in Morse and we can resurrect the infamous Jim Leyland "Murder's Row Plus Cano" mantra.

This of course would be predicated upon a Logan-prospects exchange for Morse .

    Morse means Romine or Cervelli

    Napoli means Arod or Youkadoosh

The latter combo is better, assuming health.

I doubt he would accept a 1 year deal from the Yankees. Higher revenue teams have poor excuses..

    Or Jeter could reinjure himself
    Alex never makes it back
    Youk's back is shot
    Teix has a bad hammy
    Gardner hurts the other arm
And Napoli is out with another hip issue

Then plug in the replacements and enjoy Sept.

Hopefully we can get another great year from the older vets once again and then have a healthy Jeter in Oct.

For offensive power I'd be willing to work with the horror show defense of Napoli at C and Morse spelling Ichiro or Gardner.

But Slappy can hit the ball past the pitcher occasionally. Oh.

The Yankees wouldn't sign AJ Pierzynski for 1 year 7.5 million because they questioned his defense.

They sure as heck won't be signing Napoli if that's the case.

Even on a one year deal they want a guy who will play good defense behind catcher.

Get used to seeing Cervelli, Stewart, and Romine and possibly some minor guys like Kelly Shoppach or Jesus Flores brought in for competition.

I think AJ was more due to being a complete Doosh. The defense excuse was used to be nice publicly.
