    Major overhaul this year !!!!

Time to unload players get youth this year is a good year to draft OL players. Release or trade for draft picks load up all the picks you can get for this year and next year. I say we trade some big name players Revis/ holmes/ brick/ keller/ green could land us good picks for this year and next year. I love Revis but there is no telling if he will or how he will bounce back from this injury if we could get a 1st round and either a 2nd /3rd /4th for him i would do it in a second. D'brick is solid on the line but he is getting to much $ trade him for a 1st or a 2nd&3rd this year is deep with solid OL and we can easily improve. Pouha I feel is too injury prone, getting old and is easily replacable get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him we have ellis and mo wilkerson to replace him. Holmes is a nut job and overpaid we can get a 3rd or 4th for him and get a veteran to replace him. I like Dustin keller but he is going to want to much $ to stay and I feel he is way to soft we can get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him as well. Shonn green we could get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him we have powell and Mcknight. I feel we should resign Landry and even bell for the right price. I know it sounds crazy to dump all these guys but we need a fresh start and we can rebuild through the draft and with all the $ we save pick up a few nice free agent pieces. Plus if we have a surplus of picks we can trade them this year for next years and possibly get more in return for them (hate to say it but do what the patriots have done). I am a die hard JETS fan and this franchise needs a major overhaul players/coaches/attitudes. I know some of you will think I am crazy but it makes sense with $ saved and extra draft picks this year and next our 2014 season we will be in prime contention, lets be real people 2013 is not going to be our year but we could get the youth we need & save $ and be real players in 2014...My point is this if we can get three #1 picks this year and a couple of 2nd & 3rd rounds we can easily improve our team and get the youth, speed , size, depth, and talent that we desperately need. We also dump all the heavy contracts that we have and we change the locker room attitude that have had with a start fesh attitude. Please only add positive remarks I am a JETS fan and yes maybe these are crazy dreams and wishlist but lets be realistic we have to think outside the box here . I know their will be one or more dick heads who will write "this isnt madden" no **** sherlock but these moves could all be made if we decided to clean house and start fresh !!!!!

Greene is a free agent so goodbye to that idea.

Holmes would net less than 5th which is what he got him for following a super bowl MVP...so maybe a 6th 7th...no I I'll keep him for that.

Trade Revis for what? A couple firsts...I will tell you what - in 2000 we have four 1sts....yes I said FOUR FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS...WE got Shaun Ellis and John Abraham back to back Chad Pennington and Anthony Becht.

Would you trade Revis for any of them? There is not a single player NYJ have drafted in that I would trade Revis for.

Imagine if we traded Revis and one of our picks was Vernon Gholston with same end result...how pissed would you be then.

Revis is a sure thing...the draft is a crap shoot.
Week 17 following JETS @ BILLS, a great friend and I got our picture taken with the only player of either side to come out and meet fans

No picks for keller or green they are free agents that will more then likely let walk. Especially greene.

Agree with signing laundry vet min for bell.

Revis and holmes can leave for the right price especially Holmes. Revis I would perfer multiple picks.

Dbrick is a touchy subject. Imagine sanchez getting killed with that oline now. Just picture another howard or hunter on bricks domain. Rip sanchez for sure.

Jets players are over paid but to what extent does the lack of coaching come into play??? Jets need a true oc along with the right pieces

    this is a Madden idea.
REMINDER TO ALL JETS FANS ON DRAFT DAY!

Be sure to buy CANNED beer. It's likely you will be watching the draft on the couch and judging from history, you don't need to be cleaning up broken glass in your own house.

EVERYONE STOP WITH THE TRADING REVIS CRAP! YOU DON'T TRADE HALL OF FAME PLAYERS THAT ARE THE FACE OF YOUR FRANCHISE AND THE ONLY PLAYER THAT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE THAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE A FAN OF YOUR TEAM! HE MAY EVEN BE THE GREATEST JET IN HISTORY DEPENDING ON HOW THINGS PLAY OUT! SO STOP IT!!!!!!

Sorry I needed to get that out....

But seriously, he is a FIRST BALLOT HALL OF FAMER and possibly THE GREATEST CB to play the game if he bounces back at full strength, which I believe he will given Adrian Peterson. How many first ballot hall of famers have the jets had? ZERO. Curtis Martin wasn't and not even the great Joe Namath who we all treat like a god, despite his suspect stats was not a first ballot guy Can we stop now? Please. And I promise not to type anymore paragraphs in caps.

I'm going to ignore most of this... because a major overhaul is not in the cards. But I will look at CB and trade possibilities:

As far as trading Revis goes, if you're going to trade a big name on the Jets, it's most likely going to be Revis or Cromartie, mainly because they are the most valuable trade pieces the Jets have to offer.

Trading Revis would be the safer move at this point due to coming off an injury and having to deal with his contract. If he walks after next year, we get a third round pick. Not a very good consolation prize.

Trading Cromartie would be the better short term move, since you don't save money this year by trading Revis. Cromartie's trade value has arguably never been higher than it currently is, and Revis' trade value hasn't been this low since before Rex came to town. Trading Cromartie would also just about even out any loss we take by designating Sanchez as a June 1st cut.

I wouldn't trade either, if it were up to me.

Wait a second. You suggested this last offseason. You're one of my favorite posters but I have to call it as I see it. You suggested trading Revis for the Colts #1 pick and it was a good scenario for everyone. I liked it as being imaginative and creative yet workable.
Hey, there's bound to be more talk when you see the pass defense has a top 5 finish without him.

You know the Jets have to at least consider this option along with either of the other two - Cro and Wilson. There are no set rules for future HOF'ers to be retained, especially with his jack-*** agents. Anything can happen, especially for a talent deficient team and a new GM. Not to mention the future cap space he brings to a cap-strapped team which would look very attractive to an incoming GM. My guess is Revis is being discussed with each GM.

As for his injury, Peterson is the exception, not the rule even understanding the more agressive rehabbing available. And Revis' trade value has never been lower coming off ACL surgery. Conversely, I actually believe Wilson's value has never been higher and he's attractively cheap being in his rookie contract. I really think he could net a 2nd rounder. How many youg starters that attributed to a top 5 pass defense are out there? One example could see the Lions use their top pick on a DLineman and still get a competent CB in the 2nd without acclimating him to the NFL. Probably more realistically, he'd net a low 2nd to 3rd round pick in return. But hey, that represents a good RT or FS which would be a better addition to this team.

My apologies I had a long night and did not sleep and kind of went on a rant.

Yes you are right and I should have put that in the post that it was originally my idea, however that was a different situation. Andrew Luck was a sure thing at QB. He will be a Hall of Famer pending injury, you can already see it. The 2 situations don't even compare. I love Damontre Moore to death, but he isn't a QB. I would only part with Revis for a sure thing top 8 QB.

I'm okay with trading Wilson. Specially, if we could use the pick to get Fluker.

Welcome Ldog. I see you only have 26 posts so I have a suggestion for you. One very large paragraph is sometimes tough to read so in the future I suggest you break your thoughts up a bit. Once again, welcome.

Now to your post. IMO you are overrating our players. Revis would net us a few good picks, most likely more than your 1 & 4. But the rest of probably would not net us much. I doubt we 'blow it up' & start over, but I would not be against taking that route.

Only way Revis gets traded is in a deal for a very good QB that can lead us for yrs. Great QB's win SB's, not great DB's.

There are players I'd trade Revis for, including some of the elite WR's and obviously the very good QB's.... doubt any trade happens though. Wouldn't trade him just for picks though.

No, he won't. For the same reason he didn't in 2012. If he holds out, the Jets have the legal right to extend him for 3 more years at $3MM per year.

A holdout appeared to be a distinct possibility earlier in the summer, but a deft bit of contract maneuvering by the Jets compromised Revis' leverage. Revis acknowledged Thursday he has a clause in his contract that tacks on three more years at a team-friendly $3 million per year if he holds out from camp.

As it stands, Revis will earn up to $13.5 million over the final two years of his contract. That's a serious bargain for the best cornerback in the NFL. By comparison, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is scheduled to earn a whopping $26 million over the next two seasons.

In the end, Revis didn't have any choice but to report. The 2010 "band-aid" contract now covers a slowly festering wound.
That was one thing Tanny got right. He knew if he paid Revis ridiculous money in the front end of the deal, that Revis would then try to leverage that into forcing the Jets' hands. So he injected a poison pill into Revis's contract.

For all you guys who think the Jets have to extend or renegotiate in 2013, I'm telling you right now...

If there is money available, they might choose to renegotiate, but NO THEY DON't HAVE TO.
