    NFL network top 10 Packers

Dont know if this has been discussed on here, but wanted to hear your guys thoughts. Heres their list

    10. Jim Taylor
    9. Jerry Kramer
    8. James Lofton
    7. Herb Adderley
    6. Paul Hornung
    5. Ray Nitschke
    4. Reggie White
    3. Bart Starr
    2. Brett Favre
    1. Don Huston

No Forrest Gregg makes me question this list.

I dont think the list is all the good, but not horrible.

    Id have something like
    Starr
    Favre
    Hutson
    Nitschke
    White
    Gregg
    Hornung
    Adderley
    Willie Davis
    Taylor

are these only retired players? i definitely sat here for 5 minutes wondering if Rodgers, Woodson or Driver deserved to be on here somewhere. I'd give a pretty good arguement for each of them.

    Pete Rose, here he comes!

I'd find a way to put Sterling Sharpe in there.

I would argue the same thing.

I know Rodgers hasn't played THAT much but still what the guy has done since he has become the starter is nothing short of astonishing. He needs to be on there.

Woodsen, okay I could see, he wasn't a lifer. However his impact on this team reminds me of Reggie back in the day. He commands the best out of everybody and was literally one of the best in the league for years. Again, he should be on this list.

DD, all-time Packers leader, no love?

I can't even come close to agreeing with this! I think Driver has to be in the top ten.

7th round pick that went on to break the franchise records for most receptions and yards. I understand it's a different game. however, he is the all time leading receiver on one of the best franshises in the history of sports.

    5. Ray Nitschke is so ****ing overrated.

To me, after watching a bunch of older stuff from that era.....Willie Davis overshadowed him basically every single game.

Thought there was a bunch of times where Adderley and Wood did too.

I'll never understand the hype. I swear it was his "look" as much as anything. Couldn't believe when I was doing some research past what I had watched and saw he only had ONE Pro Bowl.......one.

That'd be mine unless I'm missing someone who is slipping my mind. I'm tempted to leave Jim Taylor off. I LOVE Jim Taylor but I'm not convinced he was actually a top 10 player all time at all. As far as a GB icon.......oh hell yes.

Willie Wood would be very close. Was a treat to see him.

Still dying to find a full length game of Hutson

two receivers are on the list, hutson and lofton

hutson has basically 8,000 yards and 99 touchdowns in 11 seasons

lofton 14,000 yards 75 touchdowns in 17 seasons; 9,600 yards 49 touchdowns in 9 seasons with the packers

driver has 10,000 yards and 61 touchdowns in 14 seasons

Take into the account that we are in a passing era, and driver really doesn't belong in the same category as lofton or hutson or even really sterling sharpe who is right with all 3 of these guys in half the amount of games as driver

driver is a good player, good players dont make the top ten in one of the greatest and oldest franchises in the NFL, great players do

If Don Hutson was on the same list as Driver I would ****ing gag.

There's a case to be made that he is the greatest WR of all time, all things considered.

    He played 11 years.

Lead the league in yards 8 times. 6th his rookie year, 2nd the other 2 times he wasn't first.
Lead the league in touchdowns 9 times. Second the other 2 years.

In 1942 his 17 TD's was TWICE the next player for receptions.
In 1942 he had 1211 yard...

Second place that year? 571. That'd be like if Calvin Johnson had 3000+ yards.

Only two teams had more TD's than him from the pass game that year. TWO TEAMS.

4 TEAMS had less passing yards than just he did.

Hutson played from the mid 30s to mid 40s. Yet he ranks 19th all time in YPG. It's utter insanity. There's nothing like it. Look at the current top 10.

    1. Calvin Johnson (26) 85.2 2007-2012 det
    2. Andre Johnson (30) 81.6 2003-2012 htx
    3. Torry Holt 77.4 1999-2009 2TM
    4. Marvin Harrison 76.7 1996-2008 clt
    5. Jerry Rice+ 75.6 1985-2004 3TM
    6. Lance Alworth+ 75.5 1962-1972 2TM
    7. Victor Cruz (25) 75.1 2010-2012 nyg
    8. Michael Irvin+ 74.9 1988-1999 dal
    9. Larry Fitzgerald (28) 74.4 2004-2012 crd
    10. Terrell Owens 72.8 1996-2010 5TM

And a guy who was playing football in 1935 is 19th. Just amazing.

I could go on, I should find my post ages back about all of his accolades.

Now let's compare that to Driver.

    Top 10 in receptions. Twice.
    Yards. 3 times.
    TD's. Twice.

Driver isn't a top 40 WR all time. Hutson is #2 solidly IMO.

    ^This

What Hutson was able to do in his time, in his career - amazing
What Sharpe did in his career (way too short) - amazing
What Driver did in his career - alright/pretty good

I admit Sharpe was an incredible talent and on the road to being a HOF pretty easily. It's a shame. He probably would not crack my top 20. But yes. I like Driver but Driver has never even been a top 5 WR in all reality in the NFL. Not IMO anyways.

Don Hutson is basically unknown to the casual NFL public and it's incredibly freaking stupid.

Dude had TWICE as many yards as the next leading WR in 1942. TWICE. Like I said, it would be like if Calvin had 3000+. It's just out of this world insane. It's almost unfathomable.

Actually not that I look at it, id prolly slide him up to first. I forgot he was not onpt the kicker, but he also had 30 int in his career on defense. If your talking best wr, you leave that out, but best players I think it has to be accounted for. In 1940 he led the league in receiving tds and def int. Idd bet no one has ever done that. But I think the top 3 of favre, starr and hutson could be interchanged and I wouldnt really care.

Yeah and remember he didn't play D every year or full time either from what I read.

I have this game highlight from I think...36? It's basically allt he highlights from one game. He runs a straight fly right...nothing to it. DB is stride for stride the second the ball is in the air he's a good 5 yards ahead, he just hit this next gear. Then he continued to destroy the DB after he caught and headed in for the endzone. It look like me playing defense on Randall Cobb or something.

I looked and looked and looked. Some guy was selling DVDs of games that he was in but he never answered my emails. I'd die to see a couple games of him fully. Especially a nice one from 42
