This is a piece that anyone should read should they be interested in figuring out what Orlando's thinking is. From Steve Kyler at HoopsWorld:

The Magic have been fact finding for most of the season. So there isn’t really anything going on that they have not been considering for a while.

J.J. Redick is the name most teams call about; however, there is interest in Jameer Nelson and Arron Afflalo according to league sources.

The Magic are sitting on a $17 million Traded Player Exception, which has gotten them involved in several complex situations. Nothing is close with the Magic and anything they’ll do is likely going to drop at or near the trade deadline.

Redick is an ending contract and there is a real belief that if Orlando doesn’t come with serious money and years, that Redick will walk to a contender.

For Redick’s part he has tried to put everyone at ease saying all the right things about wanting to stay, but if there is a catalyst piece that helps Orlando make some bigger moves its likely him.

There are two contracts the Magic would love to package in with any deal they make and that’s Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu. Neither is overly attractive, but one or both could be the cost of doing business, especially for a team that wants Reddick or a team that wants to use Orlando’s TPE to facilitate a bigger deal.

The Magic have been linked to the Memphis Grizzlies and Rudy Gay, although, it’s looking like Orlando’s involvement might not be to keep Gay for themselves, but rather move him on for assets that fit their long-term plan a little better.
Essentially what it's saying, JJ is the most likely guy to be moved, though teams DO have interest in both Jameer and Afflalo. Orlando is trying to include Baby or Hedo in any deal they make, whether it's trading a guy or helping facilitate a bigger deal with our big TPE. Orlando is also linked to Rudy Gay, but not to keep, rather than flip to another team for assets.

All makes sense to me. Orlando continues to insist they won't add an older guy on a big contract even if the belief is that the player could vault Orlando into the playoffs. They're sticking with the initial plan, which I'm happy they're doing personally.

Very interesting. I like the idea of getting Rudy and flipping him to another team. I think that'd be incredibly smart on our part to do.

The February 21st NBA trade deadline looms, and teams around the league are making calls to see if players they covet might be available for the right price. In his rundown of trade-deadline talk, Steve Kyler of HOOPSWORLD reports, citing "league sources," that the Orlando Magic are hearing interest in veteran guards Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson, and J.J. Redick.

Those three players, coupled with veteran big man Glen Davis, have been the team's steadiest presences in the team's first season rebuilding without Dwight Howard. Afflalo leads Orlando in scoring at 17.4 points per game, while Nelson is adding 15 points and a career-best seven assists. Redick, the most coveted player of the three due to his affordable, expiring contract as well as his efficient play, is posting career-bests with 14.6 points and 4.5 assists.

Kyler says the Magic would like to re-sign Redick, and that Redick would be open to returning, but notes that the Duke product will sign elsewhere as an unrestricted free agent "if Orlando doesn’t come with serious money and years."

Orlando has engaged the Memphis Grizzlies regarding small forward Rudy Gay, as Bill Ingram, Kyler's HOOPSWORLD colleague, reported Monday. However, the Magic aren't interested in keeping Gay, but rather as serving as a facilitator to help Memphis move him to a third team.

Kyler also says Orlando is motivated to move the contracts of Davis or Hedo Türkoğlu, if possible, in any trade. According to ShamSports, Davis has two years worth a total of $13 million remaining; Türkoğlu, who is out indefinitely to strengthen his recently operated-on left hand, is owed $12 million in 2013/14, but only $6 million of that figure is fully guaranteed.

I'd be down but what difference does it make if they trade him or we trade him to them.
BTW I read that Washington wouldn't include Beal for him anyway.

Yessir. Don't need to agree to anything this season, but to not at least be consdering moving these guys would be a bit asinine. In all honesty, Jameer's value may never be higher than it is now. If we can move him for a reasonable offer, I'd be happy.

Yeah. Might as well move Jameer while he's healthy and playing well. I love the guy, maybe my favorite Magic player ever, but neither of those two things are certainties.

I know MBS will go off on one of his lol rants or w/e but

What about doing a three team trade with Toronto and Memphis? We trade Redick to Memphis and Toronto trades Calderon to Memphis and we get Ed Davis and Terrance Ross and Toronto gets Gay? Memphis gets a shooter off the bench and a good PG off the bench (although he doesn't play the best off the bench I suppose)

We have a real chance of getting some young talent for the pieces we have to trade

I think that's a reasonable trade. I think Memphis' main motivation for trading Gay is for financial reasons, and this certainly could help them big time with that.

Who knows if Toronto wants Gay...and that could seem like too much for them to give up. They'd be the first to say "no" I'd imagine. But I think less of Rudy Gay than just about any one else in the world.

Other moves, we could trade Jameer Nelson to Utah for Alec Burks and Mo Williams, then buyout Mo Williams.

Then try trading Afflalo for Turner. We'd have a young ****ing team with some untapped talent, thats for sure.

Ed Davis-24, Terrance Ross-22, Alec Burks-21, Evan Turner-25...to go along with Moe Harkless-20, Nikola Vucevic-23, Andrew Nicholson-23 and then our first round pick 19-22.

That is a young *** team with a lot of potential.
