Without its best player, what are the top 4 NBA teams in each conference?

Please note which player you chose for each team, especially where its not obvious.

For some teams (Chicago, Dallas, Minnesota), we've already seen what the teams are like without their star player.
    I survived Stephon Marbury's inability
Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson era
I survived them all leaving, a 12-70 season and not getting the #1 pick
    Mikhail Prokhorov buys the Nets
    I survived Melodrama
    Deron Williams traded here
I survived 248 games missed due to injury, 5 d-league call-ups, 14 different lineups in ONE season, Johan Petro
    I survived Dwightmare
    I survived Avery & PJC's rotations

Grizz and Nuggets would be best in the west. I'm not even sure who you'd remove from either team. But personally I think Gasol is the Grizz best player.

Well... I honestly thinks the Thunder would still be among the top teams in the league without Durant. I think Ibaka could score more, Martin and Westbrooks would still be a great back-crout, and they got some good players coming off the bench.

The Heat I think would struggle to make the playoffs.

The Knicks... well... they have been playing all year without Amare, so we've seen what they can accomplish with an all-star missing from the line-up.

And the Clippers I think would struggle to make the playoffs without CP3... I mean, he is so important to what they do there.

Thunder would be good. Knicks so so imo. I don't think Clippers would struggle with a healthy Chauncey. The Heat wouldn't struggle to make playoffs without Lebron. They might not win it all but they would make it. Wade took a bunch of rookies to the playoffs. It was a first round exit, but to the playoffs nonetheless

All of a sudden all 8 of these teams are supposed to be better than the Heat according to this guy. LeBron is a void but him leaving does not make the Heat fall out of the playoff race in the east smh

    1. Pacers- There without granger and still are on top of their division.

    2. Bulls- Record without rose over the last year is suprisingly good.

3.Knicks- Melo think they have enough depth to stay in the #3 spot.

4.Celtics- UMMM think im going with rondo. hes there most valuable player, but i think their deserving of the 4th spot.

    West

1.Memphis- Randolph they got a well balanced team was a toss up between them and clipps though.

2.clippers- CP3, lucky for them they would still have bledsoe to run the show, the best backup pg right now without a doubt.

    3. Lakers- Kobe, believe it or not they would be a top 4 team in the west, maybe they get a little more ball movement

4.spurs- tony parker. yep over tim duncan at this point. tony keeps the spurs going.

    1. Chicago - Rose...Elite defense...just enough scoring
    2. Indy - Granger
    3. Celtics - Pierce (?)
    4. Atlanta - Smoove
    5. Heat...lack of depth and floor general cripples them

I think New York would be decent, but JR and Raymond as 1 options is terrifying.

    West

    1. Memphis - ZBo
    2. Thunder - Durant
    3. San Antonio - Parker
    4. Nuggets - IDK
    5. Clippers - Paul (Still have tremendous depth...but CP3 is invaluable)

Those 5 are really hard to differentiate. Not much separating 1-5 at all.
I no longer care about anything here except for the Entertainment Forum, which sucks; the Music forum, which sucks; and the Magic forum, which does NOT suck.

Ellis is not the buck's best player. They would be lost without Jennings. Perimeter players would just have to swarm Ellis and without a legitimate low post option, they wouldn't be near team they are now.

Actually started this thread with the Knicks in mind while watching them play the Pacers. They had 66 points with 2:31 left in the game. I think they're team is built around Melo's offense and without him, they would struggle offensively. Yes, it was the Pacers who they were playing but I've seen the same struggles when they played without him in other games (excep against the Heat haha)

And like others said, the Clippers would be solid with Chauncey starting and Bledsoe as a backup.

    Jarret Jack: 11.9 PPG - 5 APG - 3.2 RPG - 0.8 SPG

    Eric Bledsoe: 8.6 PPG - 2.6 APG - 2.7 RPG - 1.5 SPG

I guess stats aren't factual when rattled off?

These stats dont count because they are "Caveman" stats... So you have no argument.

    Jack: 27.7 MPG
    Bledsoe: 18.2 MPG

Jack would get less minutes too if he was backing up the best point guard in the league and playing with a 6th man of the year candidate.

    PER36: using your same stats

    Jack: 15.5 PPG, 6.5 APG, 4.2 RPG, 1.1 SPG,
    Bled: 17.0 PPG, 5.1 APG, 5.3 RPG, 3.0 SPG,

If you include shooting percentages, Jack is better. If you include defensive impact, however, Bledsoe is muc better.

Who are you saying for the Celtics? I would say Garnett, and they are awful without him.
