Anyone know if teams can offer a bonus for a time like this? Instead of a signing bonus, a waive bonus?

    I'll pitch in.

    I overreacted.

After thinking about it, I think this might actually be good news. They could be telling him it's Seattle or nothing and they could be working on some type of compensation for him.

I even tweeted him and told him to waive it.

I'm pretty sure they can offer compensation to him. Hopefully they can work it out. Money talks.

    I'm not extremely concerned.

I'd like to know the offer though.

The deal would have sent three or four players back to Arizona, according to CBSSports.com sources. Included among those players would have been relievers Charlie Furbush and Stephen Pryor, minor-league shortstop Nick Franklin and, likely, one of three minor-league starting pitching prospects: Right-hander Taijuan Walker, lefty James Paxton or lefty Danny Hultzen.

Anyone but Walker and I LOVE it.

Yeah x2. It is pretty disappointing though IMO.

Just goes to show all the nay-Sayers gmz and the ms are trying really hard to make us a contender.

    No. Justin Upton.

The USSM article I posted is a good read. Pretty much summarizes what we know, but it can help calm us down and stop from jumping to conclusions.

Bad thing is it suggest that the compesation could be making his third year a player option, and I dont know how much Id give up for 2 years of him.

I want to think the fact that we had a deal even tho we knew we were on the no trade means they have a plan for getting it done

i would laugh so hard if we walked away with Upton and all it cost was Paxton/Fraklin and a BP arm

Reading into the article quoting what we'd give up...

He says three or four. How bad *** would it be if the three were Pryor, Furbush and Franklin.

    I'd LOL forever.
