really solid defender, getting better as a shooter, I think the one thing I would like to see out of him is to add more muscle or weight. he is a bit scrawny right now espeicily if we see him as a SF. as a guard he might be fine, but if he was to cover anthony or lebron he needs to add strength.

way more athletic then I thought though.

Did he add that much?? Damn if true. I noticed he gained a lot of muscle over the off-season and he's solidly built right now. I wouldn't say he needs to get much bigger at all honestly. If he does awesome, if not he's strong enough to still wreak havoc on the boards/defensively and to get to the charity stripe

Can't find the link but he was in the gym every day in the summer and I remember something about him putting on muscle.

If Butler can continue to grow all aspects of his play, there's no reason why he won't be a solid bench player/poor man's starter in the league for years to come. I don't think he'll have any Wesley Matthews sort of breakout, but it remains to be seen.

Honestly, I think he's really, really good. It kind of reminds me of Arron Afflalo. Come in as a nice defensive specialist who can put up a few points. Then add things until you're a damn good player. I think that's kind of what we're looking at, only way better.

Unfortunately he'll never space the floor the way an Afflalo can, but I think he's a better playmaker, is better on the boards and he has a knack for getting to the line. Right now he's obviously not there, but like Afflalo did I think he'll just keep adding to his game until he is a damn ****ing fine player.

And then. He made them pancakes.

If Jumping Jimmy Butler can come thru and find a nice jump shot, he can be very good and productive at the SF spot.

Once he develops a consistent jump shot, he is going to be really good. His defense has always been good, and I was even more impressed on the few series during the heat game where he held his own against Wade and Lebron.

It is impressive that he can guard Wade and Lebron both pretty well. i hope thibs throws out a rose-jimmy-deng-taj-noah shutdown defense every now and then.

Agreed ... and he could improve his 3pt shooting to. He regulary apears wide open behind the 3p line

He is my type of player I really like the guy a lot. He's got a good head on his shoulders and a great support system here - he will continue to get better and better I have no doubts and he's already made nice strides.

I like guys who I don't have to worry about them putting in the needed work like the majority of our team and that goes back to them drafting high character guys - minus a few.
