no offense but this cannot end well. there is a tank thread already, albeit very empty right now. why try and bring both discussions to the same thread? it's almost baiting.

Well if a mod wants to change it to just "Road to the playoffs" then I'm fine with it.

Not meant to be a baiting thread at all, it just keeps track of both in the same thread.

Look at the teams ahead of us and tell me who we're going to pass for a playoff spot lol. Other then if Milwaukee tanks or Josh Smith gets dealt soon, those will be the playoff teams.

I'm more worried about who we trade (have a thread for that), giving up our pick in a lighter draft (tank nation thread) and the development of Ross/Davis (have them covered).

No need for this thread sorry man.

boston and milwaukee are not locks to finish any better than .500 so it's certainly not out of the question. the bigger question is whether we can make it back to .500 imo.

not really a fair question given the nature of the thread.

You do realize TMath's "promise land" is the first overall pick in the draft.... Not the playoffs.

This is a subtle change from that Tank thread considering the same OP that created the other one. This is more of a glass half full thread .

Seriously though, looking at the current standings and I already mentioned on the game thread, the only team Raps should hope dropping is the Bucks(they still have more road games to cover(3 more than the Raps) although they are not bad, 8-8 currently playing away. Chicago so far only played 14 road games but they are 9-5 on the road with an overall standing of 19-14 and Rose coming back soon.

Boston is on a hot streak(4 wins) and this recent roll is happening before the deadline so I'm sure Ainge will make a move to push for a very last run.

It would be a tough climb for Toronto, they also have to post a short streak of their own before Colangelo does the improbable thing of saving his job before 2/15/13.

no i don't know that. no reason to go right into attack mode in this situation Deaner. you are so much better than that.

Jamie I reviewed it and you've commented on the pathetic tank nation thread. Go back and read his first 10 posts in that thread if you don't think he wants to lose.

realistically, I don't think we can make the playoffs. even though we 5 games back of the last spot, we are 9 games under .500. Boston, who holds the last spot, has a .500 record and can conceivably finish at least 41-41.

Toronto has to go 28-19, a .595 to finish 41-41

all this barring any moves of course.
