I hate that it's true, but his best performance was in my least favorite movie of his and Scorsese's career. Raging Bull. He was incredible in that film.
I voted Jimmy Conway, but god damn there are so many good ones. Jack Matta, the younger Vito Corleone, Bickle, McCauley.
I took into account the sacrifice of his body that he endured for Raging Bull. Truly an outstanding role in a movie that was years ahead of its time. It changed cinematography. Really tough decision but i went with Jake La Motta.
This is why you don't stare at chicks in public
Bickle.
Bickle
Awakenings. I love Goodfellas and just about everything he's been in, but Awakenings was the most impressive acting he's done.

I think Mean Streets is in the conversation. I think the main thing that separates his performance in Taxi Driver and Mean Streets is the supporting role - which is arbitrary. He was incredible in Mean Streets. I can't think of a time he's duplicated or surpassed the on-screen chemistry he had with Harvey Keitel.

Heat is one of my favorite movies ever. Went with Neil McCauley.
My favorite actor of all time here. So many tough choices but Goodfellas gets my vote. Even though Deer Hunter isn't on the list I think that is another top one.

Travis Bickel for me.
The Laws Of My Fist are About To Compel Your Teeth
I can't stand boxing or fighting movies. Raging Bull is probably the best sports movie I've ever seen, and I understand that it's a great film, I just hate 90 percent of sports movies and one hundred percent of fighting/boxing/wrestling movies. I watch sports for sports stories, not stories about sports for sports stories if that makes sense.
I never knew how many movies of his I didn't like.... Which is weird because I really do like Heat, Goodfellas, Casino, Men of Honor and Raging Bull.
