It's been talked about before.
Personally, I would really like to take a chance on the guy. I don't see how we can sign guys playing in China (Anderson), overpay guys who lack any potential impact on a significant level (Kleiza, every other FA we've signed in past 10 years) and not take a risk on a guy that could potentially regain some of the form that had him labeled as the next great C in the NBA.
He has been a walking injury but as a lot of us read in his story on ESPN last season, a lot of it had to do with the Blazers training staff and anyone who's played competitively and come back too soon from an injury can relate to his story. He has been rehabbing and training his body for the past 2 years now and I see no reason why we wouldn't take a shot in the dark with him with where our franchise currently is.
