I checked the 'Other sports' forum, nothing there about cycling in general or this story in particular. I think the whole 'Armstrong' affair is big and important enough to warrant 'general' attention and discussion.
A long time ago, last year after the USADA story broke, I (and many others on cycling forums) jokingly suggested that if LA was ever going to come clean (which I still doubt,) it would probably be via something like an 'interview' with Oprah.....and here it is.
I think that his legal position prevents him from really coming clean, and I have serious doubts if he even remembers what the 'truth' about this sordid affair really is.
As a long time cycling fan, and as one of the millions who was conned for years by this utter prick, I will, of course, be watching with great interest.
Shame no one got an automatic weapon into the taping
Why? Cause he lied about cheating in a sport where EVERYONE was cheating? Yes, his actions have been cowardly and his consistent denials have been childish and pathetic... but now you want someone to shoot him?
Call him whatever you want, he probably is all of those things and more. However, with all of the lying, cheating, and whatever else, he has helped raise a ton of money for a great cause. Yes, he did so with lying and cheating, but still, unless news comes out that he was secretly funneling money out of his LiveStrong charity, I won't go as far as to wish death upon the man.
I do wonder how many lawsuits are going to come his way now. I'm sure his lawyers told him exactly what to say, though.
