This is hard, both have outrageous talent. I'm gonna go with Trout on this, but it was close

Love him or hate him, call him overrated, a punk, chump, and whatever blasphemy you people speak, fact of the matter is there is no denying he's the best of his generation and will go down as a top 5 player ever...what he has done for the NBA is amazing he's the biggest name in basketball all around the world and his chase for number 6 continues! All that matters though to us Laker fans is #17! Lakersnation! #16to17

Trout is the better player, but Stanton is more fun to watch.

    I pick Stanton.

Stanton's plate discipline has to improve dramatically before he can be taken over Trout.

Trout is younger, more versatile, and has the little things going for him. Stanton has power. And while power is more rare today, and it can improve his value across the board quickly, it's the only thing that he is better than Trout at doing as of today.

If Stanton can command the strike zone well, raising that OBP, he is going to start getting massive amounts of home runs. I don't think he is going to get pitched too all that much this year. No reason to go after him in his lineup and I'm sure pitchers don't want to serve anything up to him. I can see Stanton getting pitched around this year. The question is if he will take his walks and work the count or if he will get impatient and frustrated and expand his zone.

I want to see Stanton handle that before taking him over Trout. Otherwise, you have to think Trout is the better bet.

Not to take anything away from Stanton, great hitter, and I like him alot but Trout is insanely good.

Trout by a country mile, I believe Stanton and Heyward are a better comparison with Stanton having a noticeable but not dominating edge

Would you ever have Stanton lead off? Trout is considered a 50/50 candidate, Trout nearly won the MVP/ROY combo the same year as a Triple Crown winner, Stanton's only advantage is power
