Strome will be here. That sucks though, was really looking forward to seeing Bailey

    Moulson-Tavares-Boyes
    Grabner-Strome-Okposo
    Martin-Nielsen-Niederreiter
    Boulton-Cizikas-Ullstorm

That's the lineup Im rooting for

Bailey will come in, bump Martin down and Boulton out

The first roster addition in the new CBA was made by the New York Islanders. In need of some security on defense with the continued question marks surrounding Lubomir Visnovsky, the Isles have brought back Radek Martinek with a one-year deal. He has played 460 NHL games in his career, 453 of those were with the Islanders.

    Isles sign Radek Martinek

I know he's old, and ijnjury probed, and the fact that we had to sign him was alarming, but really, I love Radek. He was always a very solid player, and one of the most underrated in the NHL if he was healthy. Hope he can still play solid D for us.

They signed him? Good move, very underrated defensive d man if he can stay healthy. Good move for depth and will be great working with the younger guys.

Isles claim Dman Joe Finley off waivers from BUffalo.

Hes a former 1st round pick, the guy is like 6'8, so he's huge. Probably a depth move for Bridgeport, but he could eba 6th or 7th dman, he's only 25, and could help us out. He has no offensive game but his physicality and size can make hima good defensive player

Not a bad lineup. Imagine how much better we could be if we weren't at the spending floor.

Like the Martinek signing. Can never get enough depth at defense, especially with Visnovsky being a douchebag.

Isles claimed 2007 4th overall pick Thomas Hickey off wiavers today. At one point people thought he could be a star, but he has fallen. Maybe the 23 year old can rejuvinate his career either on the Sound Tigers or isles. He's never played an NHL game.

Hope we can catch lightning in a bottle but more than likely not.

    2 more things.

    1. Ty Wishart cleared waivers.

    2. TSN ranked John Tavares the 20th best player in the NHL... OF course hes not a top 25 player under the age of 25 though!

Isles send Strome and Reinhart back to juniors.

Im pissed about Strome. The guy is the single best player in the OHL right now and is clearly as god as he's gonna get in the OHL. Can't beleve we didn't at the very least give him the 5 game tryout. He, unlike anyone else in oru system right now, may be able to improve our team RIGHT NOW.

I think if we kept him here and put him on a 2nd lien witha combo fo Grabs, Okposo, Bailey, Boyes, etc, then I could have definitely seen him put up 50-60 or more points.

i think strome will see 5 games this season at some point. why give him 5 games right from the beginning when everyone is healthy. call him up towards the end of the season when players are banged up.

The Islanders have claimed center Keith Aucoin off waivers from Toronto. Aucoin is 34 years old and split last season between the Washington Capitals (3-8-11 in 27) and the AHL’s Hershey Bears (11-59-70 in 43).
