Anybody here from OKC?

Hey guys, I've been a long time OKC fan never really made my way into this forum but regardless. I am graduating in a few months and recently applied with the Thunder for some low level front office jobs and so far so good i've heard back and they are interested in talking to me after I graduate(fingers crossed). Anyway what I was wondering was is what is the city like? I'd like to get a bit of a feel for the city.

Congrats on the job opportunity. I live in a suburb about 20-25 min north of okc. Its a nice city that is constantly changing and expanding. Definitely will get some southern hospitality, Bricktown is popular for some late night partying, pretty good places to eat all around town (especially Tex Mex). Good sports to watch whether high school, college or the Thunder.

OKC is a great place to start a career. Housing prices are some of the most reasonable in the country. Since the implementation of MAPS, the city renovation project that ultimately led to the Thunder being here, downtown has done a 180 reversal. There has been a concerted effort to create nice housing in the area which would be handy if you worked at the arena itself. Summers are pretty hot but we have mild winters, spring and especially fall are my favorite seasons. OKC's primary strength is the people that live here. I promise, if you come here and give it half a chance, Oklahoma will get into your heart and be a part of you forever. I've seen her win over some pretty crusty skeptics who came here not completely of their own choosing, who swore as soon as possible they would leave, stay and retire and live out the rest of their lives here. I can only imagine how deep she could get into someone's heart who came here with a pretty cool job to look forward to. Good Luck and I hope the job works out.

You'll love it. Lots to do in and around "The City" as us outsiders call it. I live in Tulsa but grew up in OKC til I was 12 but visit when I can. Good luck!
