Hmmm...I believe I would do that. It's pretty much a swap of a top 4 D and a top 6 winger. Gives us a little more experience on the back end which IMO is what we need we have enough young guys. But I think if both options are given to Fletcher he would choose Depres.
I would think if Coyles even serviceable, Setoguchi is gone. You think they package for a top 6 forward or try to get bigger and more physical defensively?
They would get a D man. We are deeper forwards wise then we are on the back end.
I wonder if we would take a draft pick for Setoguchi. Example there is a couple rumors the Flyers are shopping their picks for a top 6 forward to replace injured Wayne Simmonds and I believe Voracek is injured too. Considering the depth of talent in a strong draft year and the Flyers not doing well (at least not yet) if we would swing that. Hey another shot at getting Jones or Mackinnon or another one of the top guys is pretty intriguing
I wouldn't mind that, we do have depth in minors and as they move up, it would be nice to restock.
You would think with the new CBA 1st round picks would garner some added value now also.. Certianly if it ends up being a pick from someone who doesn't make the playoffs.. Since the new draft lottery allows any non playoff team to get the first overall pick there is an instant increase in the %chance of landing the #1 overall.
I'm not sure that we can swing any of our "potential trade" players for a first rounder though.. Maybe seto.. But we got him a top prospect a late first rounder for burns and a #2.. So does anyone actually think that Seto would = a First rounder?

Yes Seto easily equals a first. It's a good draft year but a top 6 forward now is better then taking a gamble with even the chance of a prospect flaming out. For playoff teams it's well worth it.
