Actors best role - Tom Hanks edition

I was thinking this would be interesting. I'll do an actor every couple days throw a poll up and we can debate what was the best role each actor has done. I'll track the results from thread to thread.

Why not start it off with Tom Hanks a pretty established actor. Guy has had money roles in numerous genres.

Definitely Cast Away for me. Although it's not my favorite movie on the list, I think it's his best performance. Cool thread idea btw.

You could have really narrowed those down to 3 or 4 choices. Is anybody really gonna say Toy Story, Big, Charlie Wilson's War or Catch Me If You Can?

Debated between FG, Toy Story, and Catch Me If You Can but I went with Forest Gump.

I do think he did a good job in Angels And Demons though.

    *Cough* Gary Oldman next. *Cough*

As far as Tom Hanks, I'm going with Terminal. I think it was a seriously underrated movie and a seriously underrated performance by Hanks.

    This is impossible.

It's a tossup between 5 different roles for me.

It was between these four for me. Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan, Green Mile
    Went with Mr. Forrest Gump
2nd place would've been Chuck Noland - Cast Away

Guess I'll go with Cast Away since it was just him in the movie basically. Pretty tough to have a movie be watchable with just one person on the screen for the majority of it.

Shout out to other roles Hanks had in Money Pit, The Burbs, Splash, League of Their Own, Turner & Hooch, Dragnet, he was one of the best comedic actors of the 80s. Funny dude. Still is too. He can do anything.

I actually went with Philadelphia for the role he played...I certainly loved the movies GM, FG, and SPR WAY more, but as far as his performance is concerned, Philadelphia was terrific
