    6th Defensemen/3rd Line Winger

Title says it all. Who do you all believe will claim those spots on opening night?

    6th D is down to:

    Hamilton/Johnson/Krug

3rd line W is down to:

    Spooner/Bourque/Free Agent (outside shot)

Could maybe see Tardif as an outside shot. Doing okay with Providence so far. I'd give the edge to Spooner or Bourque though

So nice to have Hockey talk again =)

Hamilton, i think they want to give him a shot.

Spooner, I think its time to give him a shot. I really like him

    Hamilton 6th, A. Johnson/Exelby/Mottau 7th D

Spooner is the 3rd line winger, C. Borque the healthy scratch

Dougie as 6th D with Borque getting the nod of 3rd Winger till Caron returns. IMO Spooner needs to have a huge camp to get the nod over Borque.

No doubt in my mind it is going to be Bourque and Hamilton.

Spooner has been good in Providence but needs more time, Caron has been lazy and getting pushed around by guys with half his talent level. I am beginning to think he is a lost cause.

Hamilton has the job easy. It is his to lose. He is going to be arguably more ready to go than some players coming back having just played in the world Juniors regardless of the outcome

Well with McQ hurt I see Dougie being the 5th guy and either Krug or FA being the 6th>

As for winger I think you see Bourque or maybe Tardif, I think they let Spooner play the season out at Providence.

McQuaid's replacement candidates are also something we could talk about. It could branch out to guys like Exelby and Bartkowski. The d-core will have a couple question marks going in.

Hamilton will more than likely end up with the 6th spot I would assume.

I want to see Spooner get the 3rd line spot, but I expect to see Bourque play there when the season begins.

Hamilton as the 6th (would love to see him play with Chara, but that's a LONGSHOT)

Johnson/Exelby as the 7th (keep Krug in the minors, i would rather him be playing than sitting up stairs)

I want Spooner but i feel bourque will probably get the spot. i hope they don't do something stupid and move Paille up to the third and put Bourque on the 4th. You never know, CJ loves Paille imo....either way, should be a fun topic to discuss when TC starts!

Bourque has been amazing with Providence, I think he gets a shot. Hamilton will be #6 i think, with Krug as #7/McQuaids filler.
