Won't be going any games this year, refuse to give them my money, when they don't spend theirs, but I'll DVR my 162 games like I always do, watch every one, root my heart out,and end up disappointed.

Santana for anything resembling a major league outfielder from the Rangers organization.
Get it done Omar.
Don't worry. He's got this.
Things I'm excited about in 2013:
-Ruben Tejada's progression
-Ike Davis (can he become the consistent clean up hitter we need?)
-Matt Harvey's first full season
-Wheeler and TDA on the way
-Captain Kirk and Duda- can they contribute to this OF?
-How Santana fairs this season
It's not a bleak as some posters try to claim.
Wheeler's debut
Santana's meatballs in that Texas heat will end up being moonshots.

I am that Daddy CoolBaseball Maverick: How Sandy Alderson Revolutionized Baseball and Revived the Mets
Things that will make me happy about 2013
Wheeler and TDA debuts
How Harvey pitches over a full season..
Seeing how these kids in the bullpen work out..
Ike's continued progression (hopefully)...
And the thing that makes me happiest of all.
Not seeing Bay, Thole, Nickeas, and Torres in a Mets uniform![]()

Not to be greedy, but I actually wish they had hung on to Thole somehow. Obviously that was an important piece for Toronto as they were looking for a guy who could catch the knuckleball. But it would have been nice to keep him. He wouldn't be bad as a backup, and he would compliment D'Arnaud off the bench since he's a lefty. What is our depth chart at catcher for 2014? D'Arnaud then ??? then ??? then probably Recker.
I am not a Thole fan by any means so i might not be the most objective to answer this question but i will try.
I understand your point from a depth perspective but catchers of Thole's ilk can be acquired anywhere. He was a liability defensively and what he was brought up here to do he couldn't (hit).
Honestly i would like to have a backup that has a better resume than Tholes because of the fact that D'Arnaud is unproven at the major league level.
Thole's fWAR was 0.1 which was basically meant he had the value of a AAA player.

I think that people will start coming back to the stadium this season. People understand the direction, and no matter who you talk to, everyone is going to be excited the days when Wheeler and d'Arnaud come up and take over in Citifield
