No. The answer is always no. We will suck this yr. We've all accepted that, why can't you.

Depends on what Ike shows up. I think you'll be able to look at his line at the end of the year and pretty accurately determine our W-L record.
As it says in my opening line here is a snapshot of what could happen and it does assume progress among the kids and health and solid years from the veterans. Niuewenhuis could evolve into a better hitter as could Duda or they could regress...we don't know what we will get from Cowgill, Brown and Baxter but we all can agree it would be shocking if that outfield combined for 60 HRs 200 RBIs and a .275 BA. The only point we could agree on is the output from Bay and Torres and a few scrubs like Lewis and Palladino added up to a .205 BA and 15 HRs 80 ABs in 800 ABs---not hard to beat with the bar set so low. I doubt SA will go into the season without making a move---Hairston is a stopgap, ASoriano would be a $5M net salary dump---but I expect something like a trade for a AAA/almost ready prospect like AJ Pollock from ARI or one of the kids from COL. We do have a few almost ready AAA/AA types ourselves in Mejia, Familia, Puello and WFLores as trading chips in return.

60 HR's from these 3? An avg of 20 HR's each? Yea, I'd say it'd be pretty damn shocking... WE HAVE NO OUTFIELDERS! We barely have anyone good enough to be a 4th outfielder. As bad as our outfield was last yr, it'd still be hard to match their terrible production with this yrs group. And Soriano? Come on man, we aren't going to even attempt to get him. Are you not paying attention to the direction our team is trying to go, and how we're trying to build a team?? Soriano is a guy that a contending team would add for a yr.... not a rebuilding team.

This lineup is very weak. But honestly, this sounds odd. But it's a pretty exciting season with Harvey, Wheeler & TDA.
My team, my city.
My Expectations..
Player AB HR RBI .BA SB
Nieuwenhuis-L 500 13 60 .260 15
Tejada-R 600 1 45 .290 10
Wright-R 650 26 110 .310 24
Davis-L 600 37 105 .265 3
Buck-R 225 11 60 .225 1
Duda-L 525 21 70 .245 2
Cowgill-R 200 4 25 .230 13
Murphy-L 525 6 65 .280 14
Valdespin-L 300 14 35 .255 15
Turner-R 150 3 20 .245 5
Baxter-L 150 4 15 .260 4
Hicks-R 100 1 10 .235 2
Recker-R 50 1 10 .220 0
D'Anaud-R 200 11 45 .280 3
Quintinilla-R 100 0 5 .240 5
Brown-R 175 7 30 .265 5
This is what I think is realistic..
As for starting pitching.... (keeping it simple)
Jonathon Neise 200 IP 13-18 3.75 ERA
Johan Santana 115 IP 7-10 4.40 ERA
Matt Harvey 175 IP 10-12 3.55 ERA
Dillon Gee 125 IP 6-9 4.65 ERA
Zach Wheeler 55 IP 4-4 3.33 ERA (August call up)
No idea who the 5th starter will be..
My team, my city.

Cowgill will have a lower average than Hicks? I think Hicks will have trouble hitting over .200.
You are projecting 163 HR too... Yeah no.
There are so many flaws with these predictions I don't even know where to begin.
So you say these are your expectations....
So let me get this straight;
You EXPECT Wright to have 26 HR's and 110 RBI's plus Ike to have 37 HR's and 105 RBI's with this ****** *** lineup? Who do you expect to be on base to drive in that many times?
You also EXPECT Kirk to go from sucking to having a decent avg with 13 HR's and 60 RBI's?? That's a good amount of HR's and a lot of RBI's for someone like him. Plus you expect Duda to go from terrible to 21 HR's and 70 RBI's.
Then you EXPECT Buck to have 11 HR's and 60 RBI's but also d'Arnaud to have 11 HR's and 45 RBI's??
Do you realize you are expecting d'Arnaud in his rookie yr to have 11 HR's and 45 RBI's in only 200 at bats? which extrapolates to something like over 30 HR's and 130 RBI's for a whole season.
So from our catchers this yr, we're gonna get 22 HR's and 105 RBI's?
So that's 3 positions with over 100 RBI's for us this yr.
With those HR totals, we would have been in the top half of all of baseball in HR's in 2012, and 7th in the NL.
You have us for 710 RBI's that you listed there.. Good for 4th in the NL in 2012 and 8th in MLB.
So..... with that very good offense you are EXPECTING, you then have NONE of our starting pitchers with a winning record!
Not a single SP will have a winning record while pitching for a team that you expect to be among the top HR and RBI teams in the NL?? Even with some guys having very solid ERAs?
Sorry but these expectations are terrible. Maybe you just didn't think it through.
These numbers are numbers you see on a playoff contending team which we will not be. Unless our bullpen will consist of 12 yr old boys, even ours won't be bad enough to not allow a single pitcher to have better than a 10-12 record or 13-17 record while having good sub 3.75 ERA's.

Did anybody say no yet?
You could figure on Duda going 25 80 .270, Nieiwenhuis 12 60 .275, Cowgill 6 35 .260, Valdespin 8 25 .275, Brown 4 15 .250 and Baxter 5 25 .270 in a collective 1650 ABs based on limited ML stats and minor league projections. That's 60 homers and 240 RBIs...an average of 20 80 .270 from six guys who are best described as fourth outfielders. Only Duds has breakout possibilities and there is little margin for error here hence the idea of signing a FA like Hairston. While we may not contend we don't want to suck entirely.

If the catechism is "Is it enough for 4th place?" then yes 70 wins and finishing just ahead of the Marlins here we come!!
