    Wbc

Who do you think will be in the WBC? My guess would be Bautista, Encarnasion, Reyes, Dickey and Lawrie.

Personally I don't think Bautista should face high level pitching so soon. Last I hear he was hitting off a tee.

He has apparently been hitting a machine 5 days a week but has not faced live pitching yet.

I believe Reyes, Melky and EE are all but confirmed for DR team. There was just an article on the Star talking about the first 4 batters for DR will be Jays

I think AA said Bautista will not be playing in WBC though a final decision has not been made.

That DR team is really stacked (rather, will be stacked):

I'm totally cheering for the DR after Canada.

You know, I wonder if Cano would like to be a Blue Jay after 2013? The could form the Jays top 5 batters. Ridiculous.

Both his parents are Canadian. That qualifies him.

Remember the Italian team stack with 2nd and 3rd generation players?

Ya...me too. Why would AA want to risk it?

Especialy with all the injuries last year.

If they play and get hurt...do we still have to pay the contract?

Yes, the Blue Jays would still have to pay them.

Bugger that...they can stay home and watch it on TV...I'd like to see Canada do well but Lawrie should stay put.

I do like the concept of the games but, it's too risky for the teams that let their players go.

Its too good of exposure for the league and its players. Like NHL/NBA with Olympics the MLB has this to showcase its talent worldwide and is something owners want.

Exposure? How does exposure help us get to the playoffs?

If I own the Jays I'm not going to see a ratings increase or more ticket sales because Lawrie hit 12 hr in the WBC. I will see a ratings decrease if he's on the DL for 3 months with a broken arm.

Happy for Whitt to have Teahan, Francis Bedard. I hear Bay has some free time on his hands. What's Adam Loewen up to?
