Who do you think will be in the WBC? My guess would be Bautista, Encarnasion, Reyes, Dickey and Lawrie.

Personally I don't think Bautista should face high level pitching so soon. Last I hear he was hitting off a tee.

He has apparently been hitting a machine 5 days a week but has not faced live pitching yet.

I believe Reyes, Melky and EE are all but confirmed for DR team. There was just an article on the Star talking about the first 4 batters for DR will be Jays

If the Jays do allow Bautista to participate, the first four batters in the Dominican lineup could be identical to the top four that Jays manager John Gibbons will mark on his lineup card for opening day. Jose Reyes, Melky Cabrera and Edwin Encarnacion are all expected to be named to the Domincan roster.

Bugger that...they can stay home and watch it on TV...I'd like to see Canada do well but Lawrie should stay put.

Its too good of exposure for the league and its players. Like NHL/NBA with Olympics the MLB has this to showcase its talent worldwide and is something owners want.

Exposure? How does exposure help us get to the playoffs?

If I own the Jays I'm not going to see a ratings increase or more ticket sales because Lawrie hit 12 hr in the WBC. I will see a ratings decrease if he's on the DL for 3 months with a broken arm.

Happy for Whitt to have Teahan, Francis Bedard. I hear Bay has some free time on his hands. What's Adam Loewen up to?
